In a heartbeat. The man created a surplus, times were good, money was flowing. He should have been president for life as far as I'm concerned.

The economy Reagan left us with was strong enough to get us through clinton's neglect. 16 years of neglect was too much. Today he wouldn't have the smooth sailing he had in the nineties. clinton didn't want to destroy the country so having someone that's not gonna do much more harm with is partying and womanizing. That's what he wanted to get out of his presidency.

However, I remember those days quite clearly, was working in conjunction with the US Govt. Newt was no ones buddy, he ensured that Federal employees got a paid three week vacation at the expense of the American taxpayers and those that could least afford it.

Newt pulled a power play that accomplished nothing. He shut the government down for 3 weeks, no claims were worked, no hearings held...nothing. The employees went without pay, but it didn't effect them any as they all got their back pay when they went back to work. A pointless exercise that only served as a display of power and hurt ONLY the American people. I had a ring side seat for all of that and my distaste for Mr,. Gingrich began then.

Absolutely. In restrospect, even HE agrees that some of the things that happened during his administration (NAFTA) were mistakes, but I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to vote for him again.

he supported nafta? clinton wanted to break the unions and get jobs to leave the country and he got what he wanted. i think voting for him again would ensure that unions will be destroyed in america
