This one is easy. Hillary is asking everyone to support Barack as she is doing. I support Hillary and will gladly vote for Barack. I expect that Hillary will want to start writing her own legacy in history soon and that would be delayed by becoming VP. As soon as she realizes how much bad advise she received from Bill in his attempt to return to the Oval Office, she will mobilize her efforts at becoming the most powerful Senator in Congress or perhaps she will launch her Hillary Health Care Plan as Secretary of Health. She doesn't need Barack or Bill to become historical. Her legacy will far outreach that of her playboy husband Bill. Barack doesn't need her as VP to win in November either. Out of her 18 million supporters, 12-15 million will truly support her and vote for Barack, the rest are phonies and will write-in "Hillary" or vote McCain, which isn't supporting Hillary.

I've been and Independent for 40 years and the one thing you will loose is the ability to vote in ANY primary is your in a closed state. 40% of the Independents are liberal and 40% are conservative. As far as voting for Hillary read above.

so do I! I am extremely disappointed with the ridiculous "rules" and dishonest voting in the DNC, and probably the GOP as well. I think they both need to be scrapped. They have no place in a modern democracy.
They have done nothing but screw up the whole democratic process.

Then I would think you should be voting for Barack Obama, since he's the candidate who is calling for such things to get corrected rather than tollerated.

You seem to be under the impression that Berlie had intended to speak of a much higher percentage of her supporters. I think 1200 is a low estimate of how many will refuse to vote for Barack Obama, but as Billeib pointed out... her REAL supporters will do as she asks and support Barack Obama so that she doesn't go down in history as the divider of the Democratic party. The question then is how many are REAL supporters.

If Hillary Clinton ran as an independent, it would show myself and I assume much of the american people how delusional she really is. At this point in the primary season, does she really believe she can win against Obama? She would have to win 71% of all delegates and votes from now onwards to be able to take the lead. I dont think that is going to happen.

but it looks likely that this contest will be over soon and he will be on to campaign for the general election... even if Hillary manages to get away with changing the rules. Barack Obama angered fellow Democrats in the Illinois Senate WHEN HE VOTED TO STRIP MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM A CHILD WELFARE OFFICE on Chicago's West Side.
But Obama had a ready explanation: He goofed.

"I was not aware that I had voted no," he said that day in June 2002, asking that the record be changed to reflect that he "intended to vote yes."

That was not the only misfire for the former civil rights attorney first elected to the state Senate in 1996. During his eight years in state office, Obama cast more than 4,000 votes. Of those, according to transcripts of the proceedings in Springfield, he hit the wrong button at least six times.

The rules allow state lawmakers to clear up a mishap if they suffered from a momentary case of stumbly fingers or a lapse in attention. Correcting the record is common practice in the Illinois Legislature, where lawmakers routinely cast numerous votes in a hurry.

But some lawmakers say the practice also offers a relatively painless way to placate both sides of a difficult issue. Even if a lawmaker admits an error, THE ACTUAL VOTE STANDS AND THE OFFICIAL RECORD MERELY SHOWS THE SENATOR'S "INTENT."

But Obama has come under fire from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina for his frequent use of another oddity of Illinois politics: voting "present" rather than casting up-or-down votes on controversial measures.

Four of Obama's admitted flubs drew little controversy.

On March 19, 1997, he announced he had fumbled an election-reform vote the day before, on a measure that passed 51 to 6: "I was trying to vote yes on this, and I was recorded as a no," he said.
The next day, he acknowledged voting "present" on a key telecommunications vote.

He stood on March 11, 1999, to take back his vote against legislation to end good-behavior credits for certain felons in county jails. "I PRESSED THE WRONG BUTTON ON THAT," he said.

Obama was the lone dissenter on Feb. 24, 2000, against 57 yeas for a ban on human cloning.
"I PRESSED THE WRONG BUTTON BY ACCIDENT," HE SAID.

But two of Obama's bumbles came on more-sensitive topics. On Nov. 14, 1997, he backed
Legislation to permit riverboat casinos to operate even when the boats were dockside.

The measure pushed by the gambling industry and fought by church groups whose support Obama
was seeking, passed with two "yeas" to spare -- including Obama's. Moments after its passage he
Rose to say, "I'D LIKE TO BE RECORDED AS A NO VOTE," EXPLAINING THAT HE HAD MISTAKENLY VOTED FOR IT.

Obama would later develop a reputation as a critic of the gambling industry, and he voted against
A similar measure two years later. But he was clearly confused about how to handle the issue at the
Time of his first vote, telling a church group on a 1998 campaign questionnaire that he was "undecided"
About whether he backed an expansion of riverboat gambling. And, months earlier, he had voted in
Favor of a version of the bill.

The senator who led the opposition to the gambling measure, Republican Todd Sieben, said he took
Obama at his word that the initial vote was an error. But Sieben also said the thin margin of victory
was a sign that perhaps there was more to the vote than met the eye. "He was obviously paying
Attention to this vote. It was a major, major issue in the state, and it was a long debate,
" Sieben said. "The inadvertent 'Oops, I missed the switch' -- I'd be kind of skeptical of that."

On June 11, 2002, Obama's vote sparked a confrontation after he joined Republicans TO BLOCK
Democrats trying to override a veto by GOP Gov. George Ryan of a $2-MILLION ALLOTMENT FOR THE
    WEST CHICAGO CHILD WELFARE OFFICE.

A fellow Democrat suddenly seethed with anger. "You got a lot of nerve to talk about being responsible,"
Said Sen. Rickey Hendon, ACCUSING OBAMA OF VOTING TO CLOSE THE CHILD WELFARE OFFICE.

Obama replied right away. "I understand Sen. Hendon's anger. . . . I WAS NOT AWARE THAT I HAD VOTED
NO ON THAT LAST -- LAST PIECE OF LEGISLATION," HE SAID. Another OOOPS?

With all these oops and present votes do we want this man as President?
He could vote for War and Higher taxes and claim Oops I meant to vote NO.

Did you know that he corrected himself at the time? Did you also know that hitting the wrong button is common?

Of course you knew, because you have read the original January 2008 New York Times article that mentioned the six erroneous votes...

"The rules allow state lawmakers to clear up a mishap if they suffered from a momentary case of stumbly fingers or a lapse in attention. Correcting the record is common practice in the Illinois Legislature, where lawmakers routinely cast numerous votes in a hurry."

Have you voted in the Illinois state senate? We're talking about a few wrong button presses out of thousands. Typists generally consider it pretty good if they can manage to hit a wrong key only about once out of every thousand key-presses. I can't say what happened, because I wasn't there... but he admitted his erroneous button presses on the same day and had them corrected before they could go into effect. That's a whole lot better than waiting nearly 5 years to admit that a vote cast was an error... not mentioning any names here.

Ah, thank you so much for your perfect example of what's wrong with the traditional Plurality Voting system.

If you haven't already done so, try the Balanced Plurality twin of this poll where you can actually cast a true negative vote...
    http://www.sodahead.com/poll/...

To anybody who is new to this idea, notice how this voter wanted to vote against a candidate (Hillary Clinton) but had to convert that vote into a false-positive which would have been for either Barack Obama or for John McCain, or for any other competator. In this case, the voter chose to vote for John McCain as a way of simulating a vote against Hillary Clinton.

Ah, okay. Well, that's one place where we just have a difference of opinion then... that's okay. We don't need to agree with each other to get along. :)

I look at it this way... at one extreme is totally socialized health care, where everyone possible is kept healthy enough to be productive in society and everyone benefits from it. At the other extreme is where each person has to either be their own doctor or hire their own personal doctor, and has to buy all of their own medical supplies and equipment in order to take care of any health problems that might come up... in which case only the richest people can afford to keep from becoming a drain on society... and they probably don't care if they do become a drain on society because they won't feel it until society totally crumbles underneath them and it's too late to do anything about it.

Personally, I would rather live in a society where we all have the means to remain productive and everybody benefits.
