If Barack Obama can't run on his previous record, then why is he running at all?

Lindon Johnson was the only incumbent American President who didn't run for re-election in the modern history. If Obama acted in that way, it could potentially have created a problem for Romney.

Who says he can't? Willard definitely doesn't want to run on his record. He didn't even mention his time as governor when he won the recent primaries (because his record sucks.)
The idea of applying "business expertise" to running a government is a false promise. It is based on the idea that we should run government "like a business." Government is not a business. It is established for different purposes and operates with different expectations. Why, indeed, run government "like a business?" Why not run it "like a farm" or "like a baseball team?" How about "like a military unit?" Its as stupid as running a military division like a business. They all have different objectives -- Bain Capital's primary and secondary goal is simple -- make good if not fabulous returns for their investors. Creating jobs was never even in the brochure nor the interest of the investors.

How people can't see this is mind boggling.

What next --- the purpose of the special ops unit is to save lives in the event of a disaster? Or the purpose of the Peace Corp is to make money for its board?

Communist revolution? The president is actually very moderate and has started no sort of revolution. Putting aside his moderate health care law that actually appeals to both the left and the right, he has done nothing that separates the country from the Bush era.
