I think we should send a space army up their and claim it in the name of the USA! Then in about 100 years, all the people on the moon will rebel against the USA! They will throw their tea into outerspace and Yell "No taxation without representation!" This will eventually lead to a new nation being formed on the moon, called the United States of Moon. USM!

I think if America found it, we would lay claim to it. It's similar to the policy we have globally for finding something that is in international waters. If you find it AND you take something from it, then you lay claim to it.

At least that would make sense to me...

Honestly I think the moon is everyones not just one countries, there for it should be divided amongs all the nations and countries. and as for the bombing of the moon that should of been a decision made by the United Nations because not just one country should be making that kind of decision when it could possible affect other nations of countries if something were to go wrong.

Practically, the cost of returning the gold or diamonds to Earth would undermine the value they might have anyway. But I see no ethical problem with resources being used from the moon or bombing the moon. No one lives there or currently makes use of their resources. If there was some huge compact energy source that could be used on Earth to provide a benefit to all mankind, we would have a moral obligation to share the wealth among all nations rather than use it to further imperialism and world domination.

No one owns the moon. I think if America found any of those things on the moon, right or wrong we would keep them. If we don't, someone else would. If I discovered gold/diamonds etc somewhere in the woods (untouched) I would take them.

If we're there and we find it there is no reason it wouldn't be ours. Some other country gets to the moon and finds gold somewhere else it's theirs. Seems pretty simple to me.

America was America's to keep because some arrogant snot put his foot on it (like the other slave-trading rapist we celebrated this past Monday). Why would we start worrying about some ethical idiocy that calls into question the fine "finders' keepers, truly entitled weepers" law that has created the great empire of consumption, credit and waste that we enjoy?
