I don't know if I like any of the answers, so this is the best. See, if you can legally call abortion "baby-killing" then yes, they should be punished absolutely. And legally, it is not.
And, I don't see it as "baby-killing" because that child is still reliant on it's mother ENTIRELY. It cannot sustain life on it's own and is not biologically independent. If we were to offer the fetus full legal protection, what would be our rules? How would we enforce and impose them on the pregnant woman? You can't, not without infringing on the life and rights of the woman and her body. That's why decisions regarding abortion are legally the decision of the mother with her body. It is not anyone else's place to tell a woman what to do.
If abortions are "baby-killing", then should doctors who perform them get the death penalty?

Scott Roeder is suspected of killing abortion doctor George Tiller, ironically while Tiller was attending church. I'm sure this is a pro-life extremist's version of vigilante justice. If abortion ever becomes illegal, should doctors who violate that law get the death penalty / life in prison? The reasoning would be that that is what a premeditated murder usually gets you.
The evil, Godless murderers, rapists, and child-molesters are NOT innocent. Contrary to the ignorant beliefs of most Democrats, they (felons on death row) can NOT blame anyone but themselves for their choices to commit felonies (many of which are deserving of the death-penalty). Most criminals are, in ALL honesty, Democrats.
Only the Godless atheists and liberal-Democrats would be confused about these two opposite types of people. They embrace their secular religion (relativism) with a cult-like fervor, comparable to demonic possession from the devil himself!
There is, however, an exception to this, found in a very small percentage of felons in prisons (I know, I have participated in a church ministry and seen it myself). These genuine Christians have become someone new (which can ONLY be done by making Jesus Christ the Lord of your Godless life). These people (the few, true Christians in prisons) should be given consideration for reprieve (based on an observed assessment of their character over a period of time) NOT because of religion or religious preference, but they will have TRULY changed IF they became Christians.

It is not the child's fault that a bad decision is made by a man and a woman to put themselves in the situation where the lady could get pregnant. But yet it is the child that is sentenced to death without having the chance to scream out for it's life. Abortions should be illegal, and if a Doctor proceeds to perform them after they are deemed illegal, then yes, he should suffer the consequences.
but i also think it is wrong to get an abortion because your kiling the kid and it never had a chance to become somebody and i just think its up to the parents and there decission.
