I was not being critical, my comment was in tongue in cheek, vilifying any state, I was suggesting some were treacherous, when I do not believe them so. Have a great day.
you know NC isn't the only state to ban gay marriage (if that's why you chose it)
there are atleast 26 states with some form of gay marriage ban.
I don't think the federal government should override the state's decisions, but I also don't think that any form of government should be in the insititution of marriage.
Right now it's needed if gov wasnt involved at all that'd be fine because then same sex marriage wouldn't need to be legalized but I want to get gay marriage legalized (no I'm not gay) and the best way right now is by working through state government
You know there has been more government involvement against same sex marriage, if you take the government out of it, you remove many of the benefits but anybody could get married, and not have to see if it's legal.
I'm still for the gov being involved Canada for example allow their gov to make laws regarding marriage the majority wanted same sex marriage so the gov made it law that the provincial and territorial governments must perform them I see no prob with that and I don't care bout your reasons you won't be changing my mind.
Public outcry if they do that the public goes against that decision and forces it to change but that's unlikely to happen they're not governed by one single person and progress doesn't often go backward plus if the gov is doin that theyve most likely done worse already that's when you overthrow the government.
When a government is limited and not involved in every single aspect of life there would be no government to overthrow. Government only reflects demand of the people, whereas people set the demands, doesn't that mean people are more productive than government.

Just wondering.
