As long as the American people allow the Federal Government to dictate to us border protection policies, this will continue to happen. If the American people wise up, take action on their own, and actually unite to patrol the border ourselves instead of allowing the Federal Government to dictate to us what we can,can't, should or shouldn't do to scure our borders, then incidents like these will decline. I believe it is the responsibility of every American citizen to secure our borders to protect the citizens from an invasion not just governments and yes this is an invasion, If governments fail to do their duty to protect our borders from all enemies both foreign and domestic then it is up to the citizens to do the job and do it right the first time.

One more brave American dying for what he believes in--keeping our country safe from the predators who have no morality nor conscience. Rest his soul!

May God keep Agent Zapata's soul and may the family be strengthen, comforted with peace in Jesus name .....Amen))

My second post is to say that I am a true believer in the need to lock our borders.

It is vital to preventing other negative interests from encroaching upon our shores and our borders. Unfortunately There is a flaw in that plan. Let's say that the decision to seal the borders is made and acted upon, that means we have to seal all borders, and seal them TO EVERYONE.

We cant do it half way.

Either Everyone is kept out or we have to suck i up and deal with it some other way.

Sadly I dont think this will ever happen. I think the US Government makes toooooo much money from having it open.

Today in the news I think it was they even announced Budget cuts for the border protection.

Proof?

I am making two posts oon this topic. First and Most Importantly My sincerest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of SA Zapata Please Know that a grieving country mourns with you at this time.

We don't have to go overseas to find a war.

Sad, very very sad, but it should be a wake up call to this administration.. I'm sure they think they've done everything to secure our borders... What a shame that innocent people need to be killed due to stupidity of our government..

If we had a Teddy Roosevelt..he would be there in a New York City minute; and gun everyone of those sub-human savages down. But obama would say the agent was "just acting stupidly" . "Guess living in poverty made them do it."

There have been over 200 Americans killed in Mexico.

Agree we should send every guard available to secure our borders with the biggest guns we have and declare an all act of war against all the ones that are here.

Since 2006, there has been 35,000 deaths in Mexico as a result of the drug traffic.

American law enforcement has no business getting involved with Mexico's drug cartels on the Mexican side of the border. There is far and away enough work for them on this side of the Rio Grande.

Why do our leaders refuse to admit that the real war is right here on our border?

The people of the US need to demand that President Obama order his flunkie he put in the position of Homeland Security Napolitano to get her face out of the office doughnut box and do her damn job or be replaced by someone who IS interested in performing the duties of the job with some semblance of actually wanting to do the job.

There are too busy and probably using a lot of their resources to monitoring peaceful Tea Party protestors and veterans coming home from the war.

ABU DHABI — The United States government, which has difficulty controlling its own borders, has agreed to help Saudi Arabia secure its dangerous border areas near Yemen.

"It is a very rough border, very difficult to protect from illegal crossings," U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said.

In late May, Ms. Napolitano met Saudi leaders to discuss a range of security programs, including training, joint exercises, intelligence and arms sales. Officials said both the Americans and Saudis agreed that the Iranian-backed Shi'ite insurgency from Yemen was the leading threat to Riyad.

May God Bless Agent Jaime Zapata and his family and all our men and women who serve our country. My husband is an officer with US Customs and Border Protection and I can't even imagine what this family is going through. May he rest in peace.

Another family grieving because our laws are not being enforced My sympathy to the family of another unsung hero who was doing his duty to keep you and me safe.

I have a nephew who is is a deputy and he works in DEA with a K-9 unit in a big city. It's always in the back of your mind that something could happen.
