I have asked several liberal women about their decisions to divorce. Without exception they all included a tiring of being married to a man they came to know as thoughtless,
lacking ability to carry on an intelligent conversation, and obsessed with lacking manhood, comics, or guns. Of course, drugs, alcohol, and infidelity were near the top of the list. The term "stupid" was used more often than I could have imagined.

I haven't a conclusive answer to that, but suspect that the period of heated youth and "courting" differs from reality that slowly appears. I don't think a young man seeking a mate would spend Sunday afternoon sitting on the sofa asking the object of his affections to "Bring me another beer and make me a sandwich before you finish folding that laundry, and can't you shut up the baby crying, I can't hear the damned t.v." Within a year of the ceremony, oh yea, that can happen every weekend.
