Actually, the only people obsessed with homosexuals are homosexuals themselves.
If anyone thinks many Americans, besides homosexuals themselves, spend their valued leisure time contemplating homosexuals or homosexuality, then they go beyond flattering themselves into the land of delusion and indulgency of self-absorption and self-importance.
I'd say that topic would rank well below killer bee infestation.
Obviously, you're phobic about homophobia. Seek help.
I predict a resurgence of homophobic attitudes and policies, after Obama leaves office.

I have a feeling that homophobia is going to make a come back after Obama. Why? Well, he has become a very unpopular president. Now with him openly embracing gay marriage, those who dislike him are probably going to play dirty and try to appeal to those who are against gays being put on a level playing field with straights. Now, I don't like Obama, let me get that straight (lol) but I am a bisexual teenager, and I don't want to enter the work force or college under a president who supports the "right" of corporations to discriminate against me.
We've done a good job of telling homophobic people that being a dick to people you don't even know just because of their sexual preference is not okay. But I think that we might lose some ground after Obama leaves office. Grudgingly, I accept this. I want Obama gone. I just think that you all should be ready for a resurgence of homophobic attitudes and policies WHEN Romney is elected.
Ugh, this is gunna suck. And not in a good way.

I don't think that will happen....

comedian quality.... in fact, start dodging the tomatoes.
I knew he was inexperienced and unqualified.... an
audaciously ambitious empty suit, but I didn't
know he would be so incompetent.
He's unpopular because he hates America, and is suing states, and is attacking the Constitution and our economy and sovereignty and energy supply .....UNPREDENTED debt....UNPRECEDENTED unemployment...health takeover, tax hikes, oil and coal attacks... He just plain SUCKS, and not in a good way. Although I have heard evidence to the contrary there, too.
Oh yeah, FAST and FURIOUS?
Promising Putin to dismantle our defenses?
His lack of popularity is NOT about gay marriage, and NOT because he's black.
Obama is unpopular for a lot of reasons, including his stance on gay marriage and DADT. I predict that there will be major pandering to a homophobic base by Romney's people during his campaign, thus causing a resurgence of homophobia. A win by Romney, though necessary, will cause four years of misery for people like me. But, again, it's necessary, I guess, since Ron Paul threw in the towel, the sell out.
It would only hurt any candidate to attack gays.
which is likely, given the incessant yammering about it here. :O(
BTW, google "Santorum".
When the President does leave office, whether that's in 2013 or 2017, I don't think there will be a major resurgence of homophobia. After Lincoln died there was never any serious attempt to reimpose slavery, and after the 19th Amendment passed there was never any real talk of taking women's right to vote away. Whether some like to admit it or not, we do evolve as a society. Getting over homophobia is a long and ongoing process, but now that same sex marriage is legal in some states and the world hasn't ended, I think those few who want to force the issue back into the closet won't be able to do it.
However, I should note that although it is a state issue, it also has to be constitutional. A state could not legally ban interracial marriage today, for instance, and given the recent court rulings regarding DOMA, I think that legislation to ban same sex marriage will ultimately be held to be unconstitutional as well. Not by THIS court, of course, but by a court that puts the Constitution first.
