I Don't Get It.

I've been trying to find a good answer, and I'm still unsuccessful, so I figure here is a good place to ask.

This one is for homophobes and everyone else who is anit-LGBT:
Why?

All I want is one good reason why.
Why are you homophobic? Why are you anti-LGBT?

One good reason. That's what I'm looking for.
Bonus points if you want to tell me why I can't marry my girlfriend (in several years, of course).
You!

Why I am VERY ANTI GAY at this time.

BOY SCOUTS and the gay community insisting on TAKING BOYS ON WEEKEND CAMPING TRIPS, even when the gay scout leader HAS NO CHILD IN THE SCOUTS.

Since the BOY SCOUTS started this policy, the gay crowd has SUED THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, forcing the Scouts OUT OF PUBLIC PARKS.

Next YOUR community went after ANYONE WHO DONATED TO THE SCOUTS, see what they did to BANK OF AMERICA.

Not only that one, but I am tired of BRAINWASHED GAY PEOPLE who have nothing but HATE FOR PEOPLE WHO DISAGREE WITH YOU. I don't care who you do so stop DEMANDING HOW WE SHOULD FEEL, I have the right to my opinion, you don't have the right to OUR BOYS.

Well firstly, I honestly can't even understand the first part of this post...
I feel like you're trying to tell a story of some kind but those sentences just do not connect...
But, moving on. I have not been brainwashed and I don't blindly hate people who disagree with me. I'm just trying to get a good answer here.
And if you disagree with me, fine. Maybe I'll try to get you to see it from someone else's point of view, but if you are so stubborn in your opinion that you don't listen, then fine.
Some people are just intolerant. It's frustrating, but that's just how the world works.
I don't hate people who disagree with me. I tolerate people who disagree with me, and I try and see from their point of view. But I don't hate them because everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
However, when someone takes their opinion and tries to use it to tell me how to live MY life, that's when we have a problem.

Tomas is right. It's the Bible that's the problem. Though . . . doesn't the Bible say that a MAN laying with another MAN is an abomination? It doesn't say anything about a WOMAN laying with another WOMAN. If you want to interpret the Bible literally, I mean. So Christians consider it a sin and so are forcing their religious convictions on everyone else, even non-Christians. In defense of that, they say the founding fathers were Christian and the New World (America) was founded by the pilgrims, who were a Christian-based religion, so since this country was founded by Christians, then Christian values should forever reign. And if you are not a Christian, then too bad for you, the Christians were here first. Of course the Christians totally ignore the fact that the American INDIANS WERE REALLY HERE FIRST, the Christians forced them and their religious beliefs out. So the Christians were really here SECOND, but to them they are the only ones that count. 'Cause God is on THEIR SIDE. Get it?

I am surprised you don't have any idea. Here is one take on it. America, therefore, Americans, are basically a Christian-faith nation. According to the Bible, Homosexuality is a sin and therefore, forbidden. Anyone engaged in homosexuality is opposing God and that is how it is viewed by the majority of Americans. Christians are told to love the sinner but hate the sin. It is not you people hate, it is the fact you are "spitting in God's face", so to speak. Would be no different if you threw pork int he face of a Muslim.

You asked for a reason, this is mine. So don't come back at me and start ranting and raving at how natural it is and 1,700 species do it like 99.9% of homosexuals do. You don't have to buy into it but I think I am pretty spot on with this answer. We will see if anyone else responds to your post.

eating shellfish is also a sin. Homosexuality has never been a major sin but nothing more than shaving one's beard or eating shellfish something 98% of Chrisitans don't both with.

Hurray for the ad hominem attacks! Clearly you must be out of anything constructive to say.

Eating shellfish is not a sin. God gave guidelines to help keep his people healthy. Things like when you wash you hands, do so under running water not a standing puddle. Keep away from certain foods since they are more likely to harbor disease if not prepared properly (pork, shellfish, etc) Only a narrow minded person with a limited desire for knowledge about anything they don't like keeps spouting the same lame comments like that.

"And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:" Leviticus 10. Lets say God said don't eat this stuff because it might have disease. Why doesn't the same argument apply to homosexuality? We don't stone adulterers anymore. The bible was a time where population growth was vital to the society and a way had to be ensure legitimacy in a pre-modern society. So why throw out all the other sexual laws but keep the one on homosexuality? Why? There was a reason it wasn't allowed in 3000 BC but 5000 years later that reason no longer exists. So why this obession with homosexuality when I could point out nearly a hundreded things that are sins in the bible, things which aren't just keep away but ABOMINATIONS. so why the purtianical interpretation of two lines in the bible but none of the other. Homosexuality is mentioned less than a half dozen times, it wasn't a big deal. It certainly no graver a sin than having cloth of two animals.

Alright, so in your religion it is a sin.
But I'm an Atheist. I don't mean to offend, but I really don't care if your god approves of me or not.
Let's say there's a religion that says it's a sin to wear the color yellow. Of course, the followers won't wear the color yellow, but does that mean that everyone else should stop wearing yellow just because some other faith that they don't even believe in says they shouldn't?

I'll be subscribing to this just in case something new, and not irrelevant, is brought up.

I don't think that you'll be fruitful in finding a satisfactory answer on their end, mind you. ;-)
