I don't believe you're a true friend to someone if you're always expecting something in return! What do you think?

You!

I never EXPECT anything in return, but if I do a few good things for you and your always too busy, or act like I'm not worth helping when I might need a hand, then your a lame friend....but I don't believe in tit-for-tat if thats what you mean......where it's like "you owe me one"...

    I agree with you Jak....
If I'm not appreciated then I know someone is not truly my friend.....

I have long known that I have no real friends - I employ 5 or 6 people and they act like friends until a weeek comes along that they dont get paid then all friendship ends.

I understand that I am a true friend to a lot of people - I just dont have any - the closest thing I have to a friend is kenny who has worked for me for 10 years and he will do anything for me - but he collects his pay every week even if i have to borrow it to give him

I feel the same way. friendship isn't about how much you get I feel that a good friend should give willingly without expecting anything in return & when you do that you'll be happy and so will your friend. & if they are a good friend they will give without asking anything in return a best friend does all the things that is says below

feel friend willingly expecting return happy friend friend return friend
