I had a poster (republican) tell me that my son wouldn't have attempted suicide if he had decent parents. I have just contained myself enough to write this. My son had a series of sad and stressful events in his life as many teenagers do, the final straw was when his best friend died of a brain aneurism after he had had an argument with him. How heartless of this person to say this to me only 2 months after seeing my son in the ICU. What is with these people, we were discussing guns and I said if there had been a gun in the house I wouldn't have my son now and THIS was what he came back at me with.

Yet someone reacted in support of the Stand Your Ground Laws saying that if the salesman was on his property without invitation, he had every right to shoot him and kill him. It appalls me that anyone would be so heartless to someone hurting from a loss, as to rationalize that the loss was appropriate, or that the person just plain "asked for it".
I think I have the answer to what we are dealing with It is called the Hidden Evil .Both the financial elites and their servants who maintain this system, appear to exhibit behavior that is consistent with symptoms associated with a mental disorder known as Psychopathy. Psychopathy is basically an emotional disorder. The crucial aspect of psychopathy is the emotional impairment.
What is the relationship between what we are (on the inside) and what we do (on the outside)? Philosophers, theologians, and educators have long speculated about the connection between thought and action, character and conduct, private word and public deed. The prevailing assumption, which underlies most teaching, counseling, and child rearing, has been that our private demons, irrational hatreds, beliefs, a noticeable deterioration in the level of functioning, a contradictory or antagonistic qualities or attitudes
determine our public behavior and actions.
Their lying is communication with the intention of creating fear, and control. A sarcastic or mean statement which is intended or expected to create pain is their conscious intent, and is done to inflict the highest level of discomfort, and the communicator has a deterioration in the level of functioning and the individual desires for this desired outcome.
Lies are typically motivated by a desire to persuade others to act or to refrain from acting in a certain manner — or to make decisions in one's favor. Sex, money, status, power, control, fear — anything desired can provide temptation to kill, steal and lie.
Credibility is a form of wealth. Everyone has access to some credibility as some never exercise it. If credibility is squandered believers are less readily available — but "there is a sucker born every minute". This is reassuring only for persons who are content to continually populate their lives with newly-born victims.

If you can't be responsible with a gun, then you shouldn't have one. It seems that you know you can't be responsible with a gun - which is why you don't have one. Good for you for being responsible enough to know better!
However, you being a clueless parent, and not realizing that your son is suicidal? That's an easy mistake for a parent to make. Especially in this day and age.
A friend of mine jumped off a bridge when I was in high school. He didn't tell anyone he was doing it, and seemed to be doing better for a month or so before hand.
His mom couldn't believe it when I answered her honestly that there was something she could have done, and it was partially her fault that he was suicidal. It was true, though - but my friend deciding to kill himself was certainly not his mother's fault, and I made sure she understood that.
The internet is famous for "trolls" - people who say the most hurtful, hateful things possible. This is how they get their enjoyment, especially from people they dislike.

You're anti-gun. You're anti-freedom. I'm not ok with that. I'm not going to give up my rights, that I went through two combat deployments, to defend, because you don't think I need them right now.
My rights don't end where your feelings begin.
I am sorry to hear about your son, though, and I hope he does better. Make some changes, and hang in there.
I've been directly affected by suicide. The bridge didn't cause my friend to jump off of it. I don't hate bridges. I don't fear bridges every time I see one.
I am sorry that you had to go through that with your son, and that your son had to experience the tragic loss of his friend. Is your son recovering?
I'm very sorry for your loss.
