Bachmann should lose an election, badly. It would mean a lot more.

If there is proof she lied, she should step down. Otherwise, no. Frankly, I think it's a problem to have someone working so high up in the government whose family has close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. How did Abedin get security clearance? I doubt my father, when he joined the Navy, would have obtained security clearance had his close family members had ties to the Communist Party when he joined many years ago.

Why? who would expect her to resign?......... People from Congress say
questionable things all the time....... they get voted out, not forced to resign.

Whatever Bachmann may have done pales in comparison to what the Maobama Regime has done for the last 4 years.

Unless it can be proven that what she said was untrue and she knew it was untrue at the time she said it.

How can it be proven that her comments incited violence or murder? I'm not a Bachmann fan but she can't be held responsible for how another person may act.

she didn't need police protection until bachmann's erroneous charges against her. so, what other reason would she to have it now?

Michelle Bachmann sent a letter legally and legitimately along with four other congressmen citing a The Center of Security Policy which stated, "Abedin "has three family members–her late father, her mother and her brother–connected to Muslim Brotherhood operatives and/or organizations." Abedin's family came under police protection when as a result of the controversy they were threatened by a New Jersey man (himself a Muslim).

ok, what her family members may or my not do has no barring on her. if you have a brother who is a murderer, does that make you one? she was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan (an american citizen). its irresponsible of bachmann to make such acquisitions about any american citizen (despite their ethnicity or religious affiliation). Huma doesn't deserves this type of treatment. bachmann knows or should have known how people in this country feels towards muslims since 9/11. for someone in her position, you can't recklessly do these types of things...

It doesn't make Bachmann responsible for the actions of another especially since she didn't incite murder or violence. It was another Muslim (a co-religionist) that made a threat and Muslims are the religious group according to the FBI's own statistics that are attacked the least. She is married to a Jew.

Jews are 10 times more likely that Muslims to be attacked they are the least of teh religious groups to be attacked as of 2009.

Citing from a legitimate think-tank, Center for Security Policy as well as writing with four other other congressmen makes her no more culpable than the others.

She's a public figure and a politician thus fare game. In the public sphere there are crazy people.

none of that matters...I'm speaking to facts. if you don't have any don't take an accusatory approach and put someone's life in danger.

Here is another "if you don't have any don't take an accusatory approach and put someone's life in danger." - really where, what's "accusatory" and be specific since you are the one making the claim? How did she put another persons life in danger - again, the burden of proof lies with you?

Surely the Secretary of State or Inspector General could say that she is fully vetted and doesn't have ties to the MB or MS and the matter would be closed.

where is her PROOF? the problem with our society today is we are not longer a facts based society. we now get to say something as have it taken as fact without anything substantive to back it up. even john mccain has said she had no basis for making this type of assertion. you have to put things into context or a second. huma is receiving death threats, some whack job might want to KILL her, because someone else made a statement not based i facts by for political reasons. you want someone trying to kill you because someone else made a statement that lacked validity?

Bachmann should definitely be removed from her post on the intelligence committee, but I don't know if it warrants her being fired from congress altogether.

But she should sue her. She's Anthony Weiner's wife. A Jewish guy. The Muslim brotherhood don't like Jews. Sen. McCain called the accusations in the June 13 letter “not substantiated by evidence,“ and allegations about Abedin ”sinister“ and ”ugly.”

To point out factual information is not defamation of character - she accused the person of nothing, only asked for investigation (which, it turns out, was already being done)

Now I should also say that I do not think this should be press conference stuff - but there have been no accusations in any case
