    I'm giving the man a solid B.

He gets an A for preventing more terrorists’ attacks on our soil. He gets another A for not signing Kyoto. Heck, I'll give him another A for having to deal with the dimwits in Congress and the press. He gets yet another A for his Supreme Court nominations. Let me see, oh yea, how about another A for a nice landing on an aircraft carrier (ok, maybe that one is a B, he had some help).

So, IMO, why didn't he get an A?

He didn't pardon Scotter Libby or the 2 boarder agents that shot a drug smuggler.

He was easy on the dimowits in Congress and should have used his veto power much sooner than the last 2 years.

His energy and illegal immigration plans were below par.

SInce there are no publicized records of whether any more attacks against the USA were even ATTEMPTED in the first place (nor the details if any) we cannot know whether they were "prevented" by the Administration or not. Some of them may have failed for other reasons. You cannot give the Bush Administration credit for having taken down the jet that crashed in Pennsylvania- it was apparently done by the crew and passengers, who were all heroic in that action, knowing that it would probably kill them to do it.

Bush proposed a balance budget to the congress and Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi and Reid lead the senators and represents to reject it. So do not blame Bush for the financial mess.

Excuse me? The Democrats did not invade two countries and put standing armies there for nearly a decade, then propose TAX CUTS to pay for it. Someone needs to learn how to add up numbers. Clearly the Democrats know how to do that, and if you use the example of Wall Street and the Finance Industry, apparently they do not. Perhaps somewhere in those tax cuts we will also pay for the stimulus bills which began while Bush was still in the White House.

You must be joking. When Bush took over as president there was a balanced budget. While in office he created a massive deficit and helped bring this country to t the verge of a financial collapse by the actions he took to dereguate the financial industries..

We did not "beat" the Russians. The Russians still exist. The SOVIETS were not composed exclusively of Russians, and included about ten other states that are now theoretically independent. The Soviets just ran out of money and their military structure eventually rejected the self-serving facist government. But many pieces of that culture remain, so in the Russian Republic (that is supposed to be democratic now) the people need to closely watch their own government in case it begins to swing back to a dictatorial style. Middle aged people there are somewhat accustomed to that, but I wonder how many of them realize how badly it represented their interests. On the other hand many of them apparently regret the loss of overall "status" in the world, and look back idealistically on the Soviet period for no other reason than that.

I don't know. Since the Bush Adminstration was very secretive about their actual activities and unstated policies, we will not know for years (possibly decades) the actual facts. At least those that have come out in the meantime, suggest strongly that the decision to invade Afghanistan was based on relatively reliable intelligence evidence of Taliban involvement in 9/11, but the invasion of Iraq appears to have been based upon fabricated "evidence" or some other ultimate motivation. It is because of unanswered questions like these that most moderates and liberals distrust that Administration. A similar operating style was associated with the Nixon Administration, wherein history seems to have eventually become quite clear as to their tactics and methods.
Humans differ in their tendencies regarding establishment of "trust" and how they make that determination. Personally I tend to distrust those whom I have reason to think that they have lied to me or intentionally obscured relevant details of the truth.
Strictly speaking, George W. Bush himself may not have been the origin of the ideology nor the plans and tactics (or goal) regarding the second Iraq invasion, but he was the President during that period, so I hold him and his minions accountable.

Not only did he announce it, he helped to create it by refusing to support the SEC in their investigation of illegal business practices in the finance industry. Same as he did with the EPA and FEMA. Basically destroyed them. Fortunately so far as we know we did not suffer greatly about the EPA ineffectiveness. The faliure of FEMA is another story.

Amusing about the Kool-Aid line. I gather you are some kind of Ann Coulter fan. That line apparently is in reference to Jim Jones and his people, who clearly make a really good case for funding "faith-based-organizations" to do social work. I don't think so.
Perhaps you are in the position to refute my statement about abandoning the SEC when they needed political support to do their job. Or would you rather send money to Jim Jones and have his people rein in Wall Street? Your choice, genius.

F for failure. The statistics tell the story: most people out of work, most incidents of terrorism, greatest increase in terrorism recruitment, utterly crashed economy, most violations of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, most secretive federal government in U.S. history, lowest world opinion of our country ever, most wasted federal dollars, greatest number of blunders in handling national emergencies, most military dead in a generation... the list goes on. He was simply-put, highly destructive to our country and the world. I don't know when we are going to learn that you can't elect those who beat the drum of fear and end up with anything less than a disaster. Only an upbeat, enthusiastic, positive and wholly constructive personality can ever lead in a way the builds rather than destroys. A monkey randomly pressing a yes and no button would have made better decisions than George W. Bush.

And yet, neo-cons bash Obama for having Hope, which apparently dares to exist without the express approval of "God" or some other emblematic that being Christian is somehow going to make it all better. In the midst of this, most of them forget that Obama has described himself as a Christian, and some of them are so "gifted" as to insist that he is Moslem. He has Arabic blood, through his African and Indonesian heritage, but he also has "white people" blood from Kansas and cultural influence from Hawaii. I think these "conservative" pundits are just desperate to find something to complain about, since Obama has been trying to clean up the mess that Bush and Cheney left us.

The Bush Administration reversed the budget surpluses produced by the Clinton Adminstration, adding a couple more trillion to the national debt before the 2007 crash. Proverty grew, the middle class got poorer, and real gains in wealth (after inflation) were limited to the already wealthiest upper echelon of society. Mega-corporations accelerated mergers and buy-outs, thereby eliminating the competion that is the sine qua non of a market that functions efficiently. We continued to lose our industrial base. We were thrown into a long, expensive war that had nothing to do with terrorism; rather than extirpate the terrorist nests in Afghanistan, the Bush Administration virtually abandoned Afghanistan and turned its attention to Iraq.

Worst of all, the debt incurred during the Bush Adminstration was on wasted spending. Investment that would have produced jobs, innovation, and new investment was not made. We became even more dependent on oil.

George W. Bush, did no good. In my subjective opinion, he is the 44th worst president of the US.

READ the 9-11 Commission's report rather than rely on the liberal media's interpretation and you might be able to connect the dots--if you haven't consumed too many drugs and are capable of thinking for yourself.

We will continue to lose jobs to overseas companies as long as it is more expensive to perform similar functions here at home. That's basic economics and your friends on the left don't get the fact that higher corporate tax rates and ridiculous union contracts CAUSE companies to look for cheaper alternatives. Take a basic economics course and you might get that concept as well.
Our country is now being run by morons such as you who think that everything about America is wrong unless we are placating our enemies and pretending to be friends with the socialists and communist regimes who want to destroy us. The radical Muslims don't care if we are democrat or republican--they want us all dead and you better wake up and realize that we need to hunt these people down throughout the world and KILL them before the kill us. That's what Bush did and it was a winning strategy. He WON the war in Iraq despite what you morons on the left like to spew out every night on the news. The world is a better place because of Bush and someday you might actually come to realize how well he performed in keeping our country safe.

Now we have yet another dupe in the white house and you will see the difference of a "law enforcement" approach to the war on terror versus a military approach. The later, pursued by Bush, will keep us safe while the alternative will allow our enemies to grow and prosper as they did while your favorite moron Bill Clinton chased interns rather than focusing on the surrounding threats. It is only a matter of time before the country comes running back to the Republicans to continue the battle.

Wake up! Educate yourself rather than watching the news. Try reading some alternative sources of material and you might learn the difference. Bush was by no means perfect and he did indeed have several significant failures, but history will reflect favorably on this man who put everything political and personal on the line for the betterment of the country. I give him an A for protecting us pursuing a winning strategy.

Obviously you learned nothing about being an American as a Green Beret. I honor your service, but your point of view is about as un-American as you can get. You must have participated in the drugs too much in Vietnam. Remember, John Kerry was awarded Purple Heart and he has spent the last 30 years attempting to destroy this country. Get educated and maybe you might bring honor to your verteran status.
