How would you feel about Romney picking either Rand Paul or Allen West as his VP?

I like both possibilities. But I'll go along with Romney's choice as long as it's NOT that TRAITOR Mario Rubio.

I have seen that many calling themselves Conservatives are reluctant to face the fact that Rubio is indeed a traitor. But what else could you call someone like this?:

http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/did-you-know-that-marco...

Add to that the fact that Rubio was born in Miami to two foreign nationals, who didn't become naturalized citizens till over 4 years after he was born. So he's constitutionally ineligible to be either VP or president. And that would give Obama an excuse to fend off still-unresolved charges regarding his own ineligibilty.

Although NO political candidate is perfect, I think both Rand Paul and Allen West come about as close as we could expect as Conservatives.

And I think Rand Paul comes closer to being a "strict constitutionalist" than his father Ron Paul. For Rand is a lot stronger than his dad on upholding the Constitution's core tenet of DOMESTIC national defense when it comes to defending America against the illegal alien invasion and Islamic encroachment.

If Romney picks Rand Paul as his VP, that will go a long way to assuaging the disgruntled Ron Paul supporters so they won't help Obama to a 2nd term by writing in for Ron Paul.

And if Romney picks Allen West, West will help Romney siphon off a couple million of the 12 million black votes Obama will otherwise get, mainly in the "Bible Belt" states where respect for West is the highest.

I got an email today from Rand Paul, and these are some of the things he wants to accomplish:

*** Audit the Fed: While we may well pass the bill this year, President Obama is likely to veto. This fight is very likely to be ongoing next year.

*** End the TSA: We have to get the government out of the business of screening airline passengers -- now.

*** Fight the Patriot Act: I stood nearly alone at the beginning of my fight to restore the 4th Amendment. By the time I was done, dozens of my colleagues had joined... but we are far short of what we need to win our battle.

*** Return to a constitutional foreign policy: We are too many places, and we have abdicated our role in Congress to determine when or if we go to war.

Rand Paul is a flip flopper who endorsed Romney and then criticized him. If he didn't agree with Romney then he never should have endorsed him. It's apparent he has no integrity. So no I would not support Rand Paul, while I previously did before his actions, for the position of Vice President.

Thats politics. I don't know that it makes him a flip flopper with no integrity. They get behind each other and choose their guy within the party but then come together to take on the big fight. The important thing is that oblablah goes regardless of who he chooses for vp.

I don't know enough about Rand Paul to answer one way or another. The choice of Allen West might make the RWNJ's and Baggers flip but he would be as big an albatross around Romney' neck as Palin was around McCain's. West would drive moderate Republicans and Independents away. Not to Obama, just away.
OBTW; It is MARCO RUBIO. At least know who you want to shiv would ya.

In most senses, yes, I would agree with you. But I can't take it away from Romney that he has far more experience, the type we need in business to turn our nation's economy around, than either West or Paul. Nothing in their portfolios comes close to matching Romney here:

So I think Romney is the right man for the right times. And if he does his job, then either West or Paul will by the time they succeed Romney have the experience they need to fill his shoes.

Likely not. But I do my little part messaging Romney's campaign and encouraging others to do so as well. If you agree, then PLEASE message Romney asking him to pick West or Paul. Here's the link to do so:

As to what? A "distraction" from politics-as-usual would be part of the remedy for what ails our nation.

I didn't know there was a right answer.
  • tncdel Waldorf 2012/06/30 23:12:51
    tncdel
There's not. I merely asked what you meant by your own choice of words, calling Rand Paul and Allen West a "distraction," as though it was negatively intended.

The only "distraction" I could see resulting from either of them as VP would be a positive "distraction" from politics-as-usual, as our nation desperately needs.

I don't think either one is the guy to stand in the shadows while Romney prevails. I doubt if either one wants to spend years with little to do as VP.
  • tncdel Waldorf 2012/07/01 02:32:24

Maybe by "redefining" the role VP's usually carry out. Could depend on how much power Romney promises them behind-closed-doors in return for accepting the VP spot. West strikes me as a patient man willing to bide his time. Paul less so.

Allen West would have the power to run the Senate as it needs running.

Rand Paul would be an excellent President of the Senate, though for other good reasons.

Either man would be in line of command, and either man would make a good President in a pinch.
