How silly, how idiotic can the federal government be?

Tasine 2012/05/19 14:45:27
FTA
In order to remain eligible for federal subsidies
for school lunches, officials at Davis High School in Salt Lake
City, Utah, knew they weren't allowed to have active vending
machines selling soda and candy in the school lunchroom during the
47-minute lunch period.

But rules designed to keep kids from washing down their lunches
with something fizzy can be tricky. That lesson was driven home
when the state Office of Education's Child Nutrition Program hit
the school with a $15,862 fine—75 cents per violation over the
period of many months that it turns out students had been illicitly
selling soda in the school store.

Fearing more fines, the school has pulled the plug on all of its
vending until it can figure out what the rules
require. Because students eat lunch in the hallways, vending
may actually be banned throughout the school.

A local ABC affiliate reports that the school is considering
extreme measures
:

There are also plans at Davis High to put soda and candy vending
machines in a converted janitor’s closet, with a door, to comply
with federal guidelines.

Meanwhile, the kids lose twice because of the mistakes of their
elders, says Davis High School Principal Dee Burton
.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mistakes of their elders????????? The kids lose twice because of the nanny state of our federal government which should be shut down and defunded by the citizens of America.
These whackos who have taken it upon themselves to dictate everything about everybody everywhere belong in a mental hospital. Their obsession to dictate to everyone is NOT what I consider NORMAL.
Were I this school in Utah, I'd tell the federal government to STUFF IT, and refuse their money altogether. The money they send the schools is how they retain so much control over what is supposed to be a local responsibility. If I had to teach outdoors under a tree, that's what I would do.
    We have kids selling drugs in the halls and the FDA is worried about SODA? In one school I visited, students made a personal fortune buying six packs of soda and boxes of candy and selling them before school. Ironically even in the era of free lunches, many of the kids will dump all the government ordained "healthy" food, but fill up on junk they bring with them.     If you can think of it, they have done it. The Department of UN-Education should have been closed down the same day it was enacted. The Federal Government have NO Constitutional Authority to be involved in Education. They know it, the States know it, and everybody else knows it. Just like all the other programs that have been allowed over the decades that are the clear overstepping of the guidelines laid down in the Enumerated Powers of the Federal Government. It is mostly the fault of the Voter, for once you allow what you perceive is good thing, oft times the falsehood of one politician or the other. And our courts support such actions based on one falsehood or the other. Outside the Constitution. And based more on their personal views or politics. And their self defined right to Interpret the Constitution. Which is not one of their powers in the Constitution. Then we might as well bend over and kiss our butts goodby. Because if we continue to accept the what we perceive as good laws, rules and regulations, as we do now. We won't have any choice but to accept the misguided, illegal, and unconstitutional ones that are being planned and forced on us today. At that point we no longer will have our Constitutional Republic, but flat out Tyranny, and a Dictatorship, the likes of Cuba, Iran, Syria, N. Korea, China, Russia, you name it.
    These feds have intruded into our lives for so long, that they really and trully think they can get away with any regulations that they have enacted. Now, who is to balme for all of these federal rules and regulations? Look in the mirror, that's who. Because we have elected politicians that means to controll our every movement. What better way to do this than create GOVERNMENT AGENCIES that have "EXTRA CONSTITUTIONAL POWERS". Until we start electing people that believe the way we do, this will get worse not better.
