Ron Paul is the only politician - of either major party - in whom I place any trust, esteem, or respect at all. Unfortunately, since he can't be bought, the opinion molders have done all they can to demonize him, marginalize him, and assassinate his character. If you can gauge the health of a political system by how its most scrupulous and upstanding figures are treated in the public eye, this country is in a great deal of trouble.

and Ron Paul.... not sure of anyone else yet

if Ron Paul is nominated then I will vote for him for sure just because running under a "main" party banner gives a better chance

also I will no way ever support Obama or Romney (unless they get out of the whole political thing lol)

not exactly. there was a very strong anti republican sentiment in 2008. so no one from that party could win. i on the other hand am very anti Obama. i think our number one goal this election is to remove him from office. not because he is a liberal democrat but because of his policies.like with anything else. you can't start the healing till you stop the hemorrhaging.

That is absurd. If you vote for the candidate that gets less than one percent of the votes, does this suddenly give you authority to bitch? Is this why Obama voters are so reluctant to criticize him, the same way Bush supporters were during his administration? Is this why their detractors are more vocal?

Silly me. I thought the first amendment gave me the right to "bitch" about how useless the current administration is at running this country. But hey, at least I voted for Gene Amondson! Certainly, voting for such a person with an insane position affords me the opportunity to criticize insane policies of the winning administration.

You're an idiot. Ron Paul is not running 3rd Party. The reason that Paul supporters won't vote for Romney is because on the issues that they care about, Romney is just like Obama.

If you want to play that card, you're the one ensuring Obama wins by supporting Romney and not supporting Paul in the primary.

How about this novel idea, instead of us holding our noses and voting for Romney, you Romibots hold your noses and vote for Paul! Half of you are only voting for Romney to get Obummer out of office anyway, so it really should be that difficult to do.

It makes zero sense to vote for Ron Paul if you want to get Obama out of the White House. Unless the frivolous lawsuit filed by Ron Paul followers comes out in their favor before the convention, the majority of the delegates are bound by the results of the primaries and conventions to vote according to the outcome of those primaries. That means Romney will likely get the Republican nomination. A vote for Paul then would be one less that Obama has to overcome.
  • Dan ☮ R... boneman1 2012/07/20 16:52:57

The RNC legal council already declared delegates unbound in response to a delegate bound to McCain wanting to vote for Romney. The lawsuit is just reaffirmation that the RNC must obey US code S1971.

And vote fraud frivolous? Its a serious issue.

I think you're mistaken. There is nothing in 42 USC 1971 that says it pertains to conventions. Primary and caucus delegates are bound to vote according to RNC rules unless the courts decide otherwise prior to the convention. This link explains the Code of Laws in the US (USC) and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR):
