I don't have very high hopes for blockbuster. I don't think many use their online service and I'm sure even fewer use in store rentals. I used to go there often for game rentals but now the prices are so high that I may as well buy the games (or rent them at a locally owned game store).

I've never been there. I do think that more people probably go to family video though.

I don't see any articles indicating that it's gone out of business, but I would suggest that the tendency of retail stores to use DVDs as loss-leaders to draw in customers hasn't helped Blockbuster's profitability. Additionally, they are heavily invested in brick-and-mortar establishments, which doesn't seem to be the future of video distribution.

They will be around for at least this year but not long after. There genius CEO was actually taking them in the right direction for a while (hmm Surprise Surprise) Oh but then he managed to screw it up with troubled assets and the change of working policies! Wow someone give this genius an award!
It almost seemed he wanted them to FAIL... and FAIL they will unfortunately.
They need to make some major changes to compete and I just don't see it happening with in a time period that will save the company.

    BYE BYE BLOCKBUSTER!

I don't think they're out yet. The one here stays pretty busy, at least. But I don't think they have much of a future unless they lower their prices a little. Netflix and Redbox are going to out-do them before too terribly long.
