A pre-Christmas blizzard that is battering at least eight states in the middle of the nation could trip up travelers headed home in the coming days.
As of Friday afternoon, nearly 20 inches of snow had been reported in Colorado just west of Denver. Six to 10 inches had been reported in Nebraska. Between 3 and 8 inches had accumulated in Iowa and more was possible. Snow was falling 2 inches per hour in Wisconsin.
No planes were able to land at Iowa's Des Moines International Airport late Friday afternoon. All flights were cancelled until at least 11:45 a.m. Friday. Chicago may prove most problematic for travelers. Rain had cancelled 400 flights into and out of Chicago O'Hare by late afternoon Friday, according to data from FlightAware.

The airports are to damn security paranoid and the airlines give you less service for more money.
The trains are all canceld because of snow and trees that fell on the tracks, like they don't engineer the design of the train or tracks to endure the environment they were built to travel in.
Don't even tell me about taking the bus, well like greyhound................ good lord the last time i took the greyhound bus ( 2012 ) it turned out to be the worst nightmare of my life. Smelly, dirty buss, with a bus driver who smelled like booze and acted like hitler, and when i e-mailed greyhound corporate headquarters to tell them of my experience they sent me a $25 dollar certificate for my next bus ride...................... Lol, Lol, not even saying anything about anything I told them. The bus i will never ride again, I'll walk first!!!
The only way I would travel is by Limo. And i can't afford that kind of money.
So i'll stay home an save what money I do have for myself, instead of spending it on greedy companies who don't give a damn about me as a customer.
Think i'll throw another log on the fireplace and make some hot coco with rum in it, Lol.
Beats traveling with any greedy company out there!!!!!

all the screaming to stop on Christmas morning.
I'd have been perfectly willing to work Christmas Day, but the store is closed, and no one else wants to be there.
I'm with the rest of my family over here and that's perfectly fine with me ^_^
