How do you picture your funeral? Is it important for you to have people mourn your death?

I already asked my clan and friends not to morn my passing but throw a party . and enjoy life. Death is a very big part of life. and we only fear it becasue we don't know anything about it. but those who love combat and the thrill of the unknown is something to look forward to not to be feared.

This is a very deep question, one which I have in fact given many long hours of thought to. Decided to donate my body to science, thus avoiding funeral, and costs associated with it, plus my body will help someone, namely, medical students learning their trade. Can also give any organs first that may be viable to help someone who needs a transplant.
I just can't see a traditional funeral for me, and would not wish that on anyone! lol
If my family wants to hold a memorial service, that is up to them, and I will leave it at that. For now, as i have at least 40-50 more years of POSSIBLE life left yet. AS the Maker wishes, I will go when He decides it is time, as no one can change the Maker's mind at this point.

When The Stars Burn Down (Blessing and Honor)
    by Phillips Craig & Dean

    Verse 1:
When the stars burn down and the earth wears out
And we stand before the throne
With the witnesses who have gone before
We will rise and all applaud

    Chorus:
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
    Forever to our God

    Verse 2:
When the hands of time wind fully down
And the earth is rolled up like a scroll
The trumpets will call and the world will fall
To its knees as we all go home

Interesting. I always assumed that they would take what they wanted and return the rest for burial. If that's the case, I'd rather not bother. I'll have to look into it.

I think you have pretty much control over the disposition of your remains, depending on how bad the particular institution wants you.

I would ask them not to mourn over my death but rejoice for I would be in a better place. Jesus said to be absent from this body would be to be present with Him

2Cor:5:6: Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
2Cor:5:7: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
2Cor:5:8: We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Yes this is true. Upon accepting Jesus Christ as Savior we have the hope and faith that we will be in His presence when we leave this body here on earth for an Eternal life with Him

I'd rather have the memorial before I actually died. Something similar to the movie GET LOW, except with a twist.

I'd like to be there all dressed up to the nines, nice smelling pretty flowers all around me, lying there in my casket waiting to see who comes to visit me. I'd love to hear what they'd have to say about me, then I'd reach out and scare the crap out of all the people I didn't like so much.

Maybe I need to work on this.

     get low

I wouldn't want people to be or be upset or crying. I know people probably would, but if I was somehow watching it would make me feel like crap. I don't know if a ton of people would be mourning, just my mom and my three sisters and my friend Alissa.
And I would say that I wanted to be cremated, but I freaking hate fire, so maybe someone can sink my body down into the ocean. That would be epic. Or someone could bury me with a tree (weeping willow, magnolia, or birch) planted over me.

I wish for my funeral to be a celebration of a life not wasted! I wish to be remembered as one who served his God honorably and pointed people to the straight and narrow way. I wish for people to remember that when I leave this earth, I will be with the Savior, for whom I lived my life!

it won't matter to me either way. This is just a house I'll have vacated for a better home. I know my family Loves me. It wouldn't bother me either way. I'd say I'm home. Move on, Be Happy, Make your hearts right with the Lord so we can enjoy eternity together.
