Mac OS X version 10.5 "Leopard" is the name of the upcoming sixth major release of the Mac OS X operating system for Apple's Mac line of personal computers, scheduled to be the successor to Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger". It was shown to developers for the first time at the 2006 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).[1] It is currently available to Apple Developer Connection subscribers for private beta testing. A feature-complete beta version was distributed to developers at the 2007 WWDC. The final release is slated for October 2007,[2] and will sell for US$129 (£89). [3]

Leopard contains over 300 changes and enhancements, according to Apple, though only few have been revealed by the beta version. [4] Some notable features include support for writing 64-bit graphical user interface applications, an automated backup utility called Time Machine, support for Spotlight searches across multiple machines, and large revisions to most core operating system components. -wikipedia.org

I use the leopard system, and that suits me fine. I am no technological genius that needs all those apps and options. I just use the Email and Surf a little bit. But Apples are the best for every day use. so simple so virus free, so real world

Apple has impressed me lately with OSX and the iPhone. I don't see myself jumping off the Microsoft bandwagon because of the applications, comfort and pricing. Someone in the office will get it and then I'll get to play with it ;)

I avoid Apple and currently attempting to convert to using only Linux.

Oh, which distro? The one I tend to use on the occasion is Ubuntu.

Currently looking at the live CD's from Ubuntu, Kubunt, Edubunt, FC7 and open Suse 10.2. My problem is that my wife can only use windows and loves Vista (gag). I HATE Vista! It is almost as bad as Mac OS. Ooops guess I am going to get voted down for that comment BUT really MAC and VISTA both treat their users like idiots and do not let you have much if any say any more with how you run and setup your pc.

Time Machine is cool. It sucks that they took out quick Windows boot from BootCamp.

Really? So you have to boot in Mac OS first then load windows?

No, they were going to have "quick boot" into Windows, where OSX goes to sleep and Windows comes out of sleep. The transition is supposed to take like 10 seconds max. I guess it wasn't ready for Leoprard release date.

You'll still be able to boot to other OS by holding Alt
