That's good for them! I have been to Canada and found it to be a beautiful place....I wouldn't mind visiting again in the future.

There are three main reasons for this:
1. Canada does not support a military industrial complex almost equal to the rest of the world combined. This is a waste as the old Soviet Union discovered.
2. They don't support a medical system that is twice as expensive as other industrialized countries. As far as I know they have not held a "health fair" in that country.
3. I don't think they have a prison industrial complex like the United states which is fueled by a dumb, unworkable war on drugs.

As an American livng in Canada.. I'm glad for them. Canadians on the other hand, don't even mention it.. they do not make a big deal out of stufflike that. Good for them!

Here's a good capsule view of how I feel about it. I grew up welcoming home the greatest generation and lived through the post-war boom when America built great things including the world's first large middle class. How far the greedy bastards have lowered this once mighty economic engine.

They have a great Socialist system set up, where 1% of the population doesn't own 70% of the wealth. Americans WILL get poorer and poorer as long as we have a system of unchecked Capitalism, where corporations can do whatever the f*ck they want.

Fantastic for Canada. The country serves its citizens over corporate interests and they've slowly and steadily kept their heads above water while the recession's been in full effect. The greenback is on the up-swing, though, so this could be a short-lived phenomenon..
