How do you feel about the fact that gay marriage will eventually become a reality?

TheatreAddict 2011/10/29 19:56:40
Obviously we're not a democracy, we're a democratic republic... America, I mean. But shouldn't our laws reflect the people's will? And based on most polls on Sodahead, and websites like this: http://www.gallup.com/poll/147662/first-time-majority-america... gay marriage is gaining in public support.

While as of yet, it's not an overwhelming majority, it's becoming clear that as the years go by, it's gaining more and more support. Of those aged 18 to 34, 70 percent support gay marriage, compared to only 39 percent of those 55 and older. It's clear that as generations pass, support for gay marriage is growing. So what happens in twenty years? When those who oppose gay marriage are dying out, and people who have a new tolerance for gay marriage grow up... All of the signs point to the fact that in twenty years, gay marriage will be legal. Granted, I hope it's a lot less than twenty years, but eventually it will happen.

This poll isn't really about whether or not you support gay marriage. It's simply asking how you feel about the fact that eventually, gays will be rightfully allowed the same privilege as heterosexuals. :)
You!

No, you're not stating the obvious. Somehow you're trying to connect homosexuality and beastiality, and doing quite a poor job of it, as you're simply making accusations you cannot support.

Ya see that is the problem with you L/P's NOWHERE did I connect the two..I merely stated that now that the Gays have some measure of a victory, this will embolden those advocating polygamy and bestiality..I did not connect the two with Homosexuals

I'm not a liberal, nor a progressive, congradulations on using the ad hominem fallacy.

And where's your proof? Surely if you're going to make such accusations you have at least a bit of proof to back up your statement?

Pshh. No. It's valid to use personal experience to illustrate a point, but saying "experience" doesn't actually prove anything.

It takes obedience to God for a nation to be great. We are not a great nation. We are no longer a blessed nation. We are a nation destined for God's wrath. So be it. "The Wrath of God", coming soon to a theater near you.

If you can die for your country when you turn 18, you should be able to marry another man when you turn 18.

If it becomes a reality that still doesn't make marriage between people of the same sex right. Nothing makes it okay.

Why shouldn't they?? They're still people, ya know! They should have all the rights we have. Forget about conservatives vs Liberals for once.. and go moral!

He's not saying it won't be, but it's utterly ridiculous to uphold marriage as "sacred" and "not worthy for homosexuals" when obviously the heterosexuals aren't doing such a great job of it either.

So? Marriage is hardly sacred now. Heteros have done a damn good job of screwing it up on their own.

The movement for polygamy, which has a much more solid historical basis, is already gaining some ground due to homosexuals' success in re-defining the word "marriage".

Does it then follow that PLURAL HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE will become the law of the land?

    I don't see why not!

Like many things in life that I don't agree with, as there is nothing I can do about it I don't intend to lose any sleep over it. Looking on the positive side however, hopefully the day will now soon come when I am able to marry my dog.
