He does not literally pay less but it is in proportion to their income. This is true of anyone making a lot of money. There are many tax loopholes that anyone can take advantage of but the more you make the bigger the savings.
Well, I assume we will when it's finally filed. Makes no difference --- the tax laws are the tax laws. As I said, we need to redo the tax code and that's been said for over a decade. But Congress doesn't have the balls to address the issue. Sad isn't it!
Actually, he gets $400,000. It was increased to that level from $200,000 in 2001. But it's still a pittance relative the responsibilities the job entails, especially when you consider that CEOs in the private sector are paid millions.
Our Prime Minister's salary has just been raised to $481,000, which is also ridiculously low. But, yes, there are other compensations both during and after their terms in office.
Our PM's get a large pension, a government car and driver, an office in their nearest capital city, free national and international travel entitlements, all for life.
