How come a movie about Mohammed is "offensive" to Muslims -- but murder and rioting seem okay for many of them?

The Muslim Doctrine does not allow for any free will or choice. It promotes or rather insists to use violence against anyone who does not follow or God forbid criticizes their doctrines. It is not a religion.

The movie would have been offensive to christians if you replaced Mohammed with Jesus.
Mainstream people in several of these countries (including Libya) have apologized for the radicals in their countries and held signs saying "Sorry America".

Swan they are just coming out in droves to see how nasty and hostile they can act. There is a great inability of small minded people to recognize that their hostility does not bring about positive conflict resolution. They do not have the ability to see the other side or to recognize that a minority of people are responsible for terrible acts. They want to treat an entire country and people of a religion as enemies without recognizing this is not done by a government. They don't stop to think how our actions look to the rest of the world. And they feel entitled to act this way. It is pitiful.

You are trying to apply logic to a situation involving ignorant people, which most can't read or write. The reason the dependency party values the muslims is because they know it is the exact model they need to create to control people here.
