The school system is one way they dumb you down. They do not teach you how to do critical thinking, they teach you how to memorize what they tell you. Now they are not even teaching the children how to write. Television is another way, they do all your thinking for you, they tell you how to eat what to wear, how to clean your homes. I mean it's like the people are little robots just following instruction, instead of using their minds.

One thing that dumbs me down is 'spell check' on my laptop. Man, I don't think I could spell for the life of me without that gadget. But I've become too reliant on it...

The dumbing down occurs in the brain when we watch television. Activity in the higher brain regions such as the neo-cortex is diminished, while activity in the lower brain regions such as the limbic system increases. limbic system is commonly referred to as the reptile brain, is associated with more primitive mental functions. The reptile brain is unable to distinguish between reality and the simulated reality of television.
Now, mix in Cable News ( CNN, MSNBC, FOX ),and under-educated viewers.

If you believe Obama is a transparent uniter, you most likely believe Mitt needs to turn over documents.

If you believe that Republicans want to BREATH dirty air and drink dirty water, you most likely missed the fact that WE BREATH AND DRINK THE SAME, but wait,
