I don't think it can be restored, and I see that as an overwhelmingly GOOD thing!

The less people trust the government, the less legitimacy it has. A government without legitimacy cannot stand. Revolution 'happens' one mind at a time.

Either way the supposition stands: trust in government is a function of ignorance. The two are positively correlated. That observation was yours, and was one of the most profound I've seen in months!
