How a great-great-granny could settle the voter ID issue, Is this just one more reason why Voter-ID laws are dumb?

First place a person has more chance to get hit with lightning, then the state to have voter fraud. The GOP has been trying voter suppression for the last 50 years. This voter I.D. law is just another gimmick only it's more sophisticated. They need to suppress the vote, because of their narrow agenda, taking care of the needs of white wealthy people, and large corporations.

Look up the name of Paul Weyrich, a strategist and advisor to Reagan. He gave a speech called the Goo Goo syndrome, (good government). In his speech he said people want everybody to vote, and then he said I don't. Leverage for the conservatives goes up when the number of voters go down. That tells it like it is, right????

My grandmother was born in1898 on a Indian reservation. She got a birth certificate and SS card, owned a business and 3 homes that she worked her butt off to get. My mother was born in 1919 she had one and SS card.. Did this "granny drop out of the sky? As you go through life you leave a huge paper trail so her story seems fishy to me. She has never driven a car? Never had to have a birth certificate or ID, never been to a govt office and applied for anything, never had a bank account, never been to court..bull crap...you can not even go to a Dr., hire a lawyer, get life/car insurance if you have no ID..If the govt can pay billions for free boxes so elderly and people can get digital tv they can get people out there in these rural places with cameras to take photos of these people and get their info and mail them ID..boots on the ground jobs..

She has had 90 plus years to obtain proper ID, get off your lazy excuse laden ass and get it done. If these idiots get away with this crap, no one should be required ID for anything.

Oh please. If great-great-granny can get to the polls, she can sure as heck get to the office that issues birth certificates and obtain one in person. And frankly, I find it hard to believe that she ordered one three times and didn't receive it. Government is incomptent, yes, but I don't think they're that incompetent. Even so, if I needed it badly enough, you can best believe I would find a way to obtain it.

If granny can get to the polls she can get an ID. You need an ID for driving, renting a car,renting an apartment, renting a hotel or motel room, library card, airline ticket, getting a savings or checking acct, and so many other things. Don't give this crap that keeping elections honest by proving who you are is a bad thing. It's only bad if you have something to hide, you're not who you say you are, or you want to fix an election. I'd be proud to show my ID to prove I'm who I am because I'd know I was doing my small part to keep the election process honest and above board.

What's the big deal? I had to give my thumbprint for my driver's license. Voter ID scares the hell out of the Left because they can't win without fraud and voter ID will put a massive dent in that. ABOUT TIME!

Did you miss the part where a reporter went to ERIC HOLDER'S precinct and was about to vote for him? And they were going to let him. He even offered to produce ID and they told him it WAS NOT necessary. Maybe you don't know who Eric Holder is?

Voter ID laws are not dumb...those that oppose it are though. No big deal to get proper ID to vote, if you can't prove you are eligible to vote then you forfeit your right to vote. I know that pisses off all those ineligible, illegal, multiple voter and dead dumbocrats that cast votes every year but tough sh-t. :)

There is absolutely no reason for not having voter I.D. laws. Makes no sense not to have them.

Voter ID laws could keep a half million voters from being able to vote although they are legally entitled to do so. That is reason enough.

That's a myth. It's extremely rare that an ineligible person attempts to cast a vote.

Entirely fabricated, and if it were true, there's nothing more unAmerican than "a bad apple spoils the bunch" logic. This is supposed to be a country that doesn't compromise our freedom. We protect the First Amendment even when unsavory folks use it to publicize hate speech or twist the truth. But when you have an entire segment of legally eligible people unable to vote because they don't have the ability to do absolutely everything you think should be humanly possible, then it's alright? Sounds like you're just trying to knock out that segment because you know they'll vote against you.
