Worth the effort? Probably not. But as long as they're playing these little games they are not screwing something else up. I say let 'em do it.

I want to see their health care program, or Romney's Health care plan? I am sure if they want to get rid of it the current one they have a plan. Just show it to me and I will be glad to read it objectively.

It sets up the issue for the election. Of course, the House should simply refuse to allow funding for Obamacare. It would if Boehner had a spine.

America needs to stand out and scream their rights even if they know in the end it is futile. Do not assimilate, do not become complacent, and do not let the Government take what is yours by birth right. Keep shouting until our leaders realize they work for US!

It will be a record to use in November. We already know who was originally bought to get this monstrosity through. Now we need to know who still is delusional about it being a good and fair bill to all.

Vote #31. It failed every other time.

Where are the votes for job creation, House? Your time could have been spent getting Americans back to work. But filibustering and fighting Obama is more important than the welfare of the American people.

That's where they'll sit- they aren't job creation bills.

They're union busting and corporation deregulation bills- in favor of Koch brother oil companies and against clean air and water acts.

Misinformation is the republican way. The bills will do as I said- not to mention give more tax cuts to the wealthy. But then, I never expected you to realize that Obama's bill for infrastructure will also create jobs for the private sectors. Do you honestly beleive that public jobs make all the materials they use INHOUSE? They use private companies that make the asphalt, steel, concrete, outside architecture and engineering firms- many more private jobs would benefit, thus hire more people.

Nada, you say- BS. Especially the many small businesses in the areas that these roads and bridges are being built and normal up keep.

The PPACA has already been decided; it has no chance of being repealed and the GOP knows it. I don't even think most Republicans want it repealed. This is all just a dog and pony show so they can go back to their districts between now and November and try and claim that they *did* something while in Washington.

One would think it'd be a tough sell explaining to their constituents that they tried 31 times to take away their right to be covered if they have or ever develop a pre-existing condition, that they tried to take away their female constituents' right to equal premiums, that they tried to take away their elderly constituents' money for prescription drugs, that they tried to take away all their poor and working class constituents' right to Medicaid or to more affordable exchanges & etc...

The Democrats have already said, "If the GOP has any positive proposals that will help make the PPACA better, we will join you in passing them." The GOP, however, isn't even living up to their 'Repeal and Replace' slogan: They're clogging up the legislative calendar with go-nowhere repeal legislation and meaningless, time-wasting debate, but they have no replacement. That's disingenuous.

This is all the House has on its agenda. McConnell has announced there will be no new business until after the Nov. election. His fat arse is pulling down $174,000 a year in tax payer money yet he is refusing to work.

No work, no pay, no job.

McConnell doesn't run the House. He's in the senate.

"their right to be covered"? where in the constitution did it say we have a "right" to be covered?
  • Philo-P... Jesferk... 2012/07/18 12:26:47

All rights do not derive from the Constitution itself. Rights can be and are created all the time by Congress (which means, admittedly, that they can also be [and sometimes are] taken away by Congress).

Anytime Congress passes and has signed into law a statute though, dealing with privacy protection, consumer protection, etc., new rights come into being, and the pertinent statute thereto can be relied on as law no less than the Constitution.

Good post. And I agree with you. But that is the problem. All basic rights were established in the Constitution. This incessant creation of pseudo-rights by Congress does no good. IMO, it just creates a dependent citizenry which I suppose is exactly the point of creating them.

Of course it is because many of those things Nancy was trying to hide are out in the open..... like the 21 new Taxes, 180 new goobermint agencies and 16,500 new Gestapo agents..
Even though Reid will try to block the Senate vote, there's 23 Dem's on the chopping block and he may get some pressure this time so they can get on record AGAINST 0bozoTax.
