Hope and change Obama upset that things have only changed for the worse

iamnothere 2012/07/16 12:17:53
Over the weekend Obama complained about the division in the country. and especially the problem with working with the GOP.

Interesting.. When the GOP took control of the House.. Obama has had two meetings with GOP leadership both from the house and the senate since that happened..

So Mr Narcissist great orator and communicator is complaining that this is a much harder job.

For what the LSM calls the most brilliant man to hide in the office.. He seems to be the dumbest pile of horse hockey in DC

Seems like he has more communications with Iran and Venezuela leaders than he has with the folks just down the road

You!

The big change is that Obama has caused so many Americans to lose all hope. They may once have expected to earn a living -- now they have no hope of earning a living.

Well that's just too bad, isn't it?! Obammy should have spent more time concentrating on improving the situation of the country and working with Republicans instead of pushing his failed socialist agenda (and playing golf).

Obama needs to stop whining and put on his "big boy pants." Hopefully, he won't have to worry about this problem much longer and Obama will be meeting with his attorneys trying to keep his ass out of prison. He'd get along much better with his bros behind bars than his fellow Americans down the street. Just my humble opinion, nothing else.

When President Obama took office in 2009, he said that he “will be held accountable.” He added that he would turn around the failing American economy within his first term and get the country back on track. Obama concluded, “If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition.”
He needs to keep his word !!!!!

First of all, things haven't changed for the worse. From a 10.1% unemployment rate and a loss of 750,000 jobs a month we have now had two and a half years of slow but steady growth, and the unemployment rate has dropped two points. We've also averted a second Great Depression, saved the American auto industry that Mitt Romney wanted to see fail, ended a war that served no purpose, provided quality health care to another 30 million Americans, restored America's prestige and honor in the world, and eliminated the world's leading terrorist.

Second of all, no one has any dispute that the reason our economy is not recovering faster is Republican obstructionism. President Obama's record of creating four and a half million new jobs in this country is admirable, but if the Republicans could ONCE put the needs of the country ahead of partisan ideology that number would be doubled by now.

Third of all, this President has made more of an effort to reach across the aisle and reach common solutions than any President in history, and the answer has always been the same - No. The Republicans have abandoned even the concept of compromise, and their only idea of "middle ground" is "give up everything you want and do it my way". This despite the fact that it was Republicans policies that got us into our economic mess in the first place.

you are a waste.. by this time in a recovery the GDP should be growing at 4% minumum and we should not have had to extend unemployment benefits from 26 weeks to 99 weeks..

Trust me.. if you were one of those folks who are now retired because of his policies you would be complaining greatly at how horrible his policies are

You're right. GDP should be growing more than it is and we should not have had to extend unemployment benefits. There is one reason for this - Republican obstruction of job creation. Without Republican obstructionism the American Jobs Act wouls have passed by now, creating another 2 and a half million American jobs. Without Republican obstructionism businesses could no longer take tax credits for outsourcing American jobs and would in fact get tax relief for hiring in this country. Without Republican obstructionism we would not have lost over 700,000 public sector jobs and that alone would have the unemployment rate a full point lower. The Republicans haven't made a secret of their desire to trash the American economy so that stupid people will blame President Obama. Sadly, it seems to work on some people.

Don't be silly. The President has had an open door to the GOP. It is people like John Boehner who have played the cut off your nose to spite your face game in turning down White House invitations on numerous occasions. President Obama gave up the single payer option in the Health Care negotiations to reach compromise with the Republicans. When the Republicans were holding the debt ceiling hostage and forcing our credit rating down President Obama offered 4 TRILLION dollars in spending cuts in exchange for a 0.2% tax increase that would only have affected 340,000 people, and the Republicans said no. And in a year and a half of a House majority the Republicans still have no introduced ONE job creation bill. Plus, you've got a candidate whose economic "plan" consists entirely of "let's go back to what failed the last time we tried it".
