Home Depot announced plans to eliminate 7,000 job positions and close its EXPO Design Centers. That's about 2% of its workforce. Home Depot will close all of its 34 Expo Design Center stores. That's not all. Home Depot workers who got to keep their jobs will suffer by freezing their salaries and no raises this year. If you are reading this at your job, be glad your employed. Sprint and Caterpillar have also announced major job cuts.

Home Depot (and most major chains) will survive if they come to the realization that the economic environment has changed. With the shortage of disposable income - most folks are going to cut back to the basics. So sell the basics. Sounds simple, but it works.

Obama is an assclown and will continue to crush consumerism thus the layoffs shall continue. Any idiot leader who can micromanage down to what light bulbs we should use truly is a control freak and needs to preside over the largest man made disaster ever inflicted upon a country by it's own choice.

micromanage light bulbs idiot preside largest disaster inflicted country choice

I think logically, it will survive because of how much stuff they help with in houses etc. I mean, my parents got all their appliances, fans, mowing crap, etc at Home Depot. Their biggest fear should be if Lowe's sells cheaper and better than they do. To me, Home Depot is going through some problems but they will pull out at the end.

-screw home depot, they shouldn't have signed agreements with china to sell their crap that we don't want anyways. I feel bad about anyone that loses thier job, but americans need to wake up and realize that we have been sold out, go work for a respectable company

I think Home Depot will limp through because of the contractors desk. There will be even less help than there usually is.
