Home Depot Layoffs: Will Home Depot survive this year?

Home Depot announced plans to eliminate 7,000 job positions and close its EXPO Design Centers. That's about 2% of its workforce. Home Depot will close all of its 34 Expo Design Center stores. That's not all. Home Depot workers who got to keep their jobs will suffer by freezing their salaries and no raises this year. If you are reading this at your job, be glad your employed. Sprint and Caterpillar have also announced major job cuts.

With the shortage of disposable income - most folks are going to cut back to the basics. So sell the basics. Sounds simple, but it works.reply

Any idiot leader who can micromanage down to what light bulbs we should use truly is a control freak and needs to preside over the largest man made disaster ever inflicted upon a country by it's own choice.

Their biggest fear should be if Lowe's sells cheaper and better than they do. To me, Home Depot is going through some problems but they will pull out at the end.reply

I feel bad about anyone that loses thier job, but americans need to wake up and realize that we have been sold out, go work for a respectable companyreply
