Yet you whine over a station not even owned by Black Americans nor do the people that run it make the final decision. Hilarious.

    No.

You said Viacom doesn't own BET.

They do, just like they own about 80% of all US cable stations.

    You were wrong.

    That is all.

LOL!! Here we go again; I'm glad you finally looked it up. "In 1991 bet became the first completely black owned company in the ny stock Exchange." Shocker isn't it and still some people are complaining. He sold it to VIACOM which is the head and owns BET.

    I will reiterate:

"VIACOM does, because they have the last say as to how BET is run and approval of what is played. You really don't know how the private sector works."

"I work at a company; the CEO of that company is White and the owner of the Company is from Korea. The CEO has to listen and get approval from the owner, so BET as I stated is owned and ran by VIACOM."

Common ground, agreed. That's why I tend not to talk politics with customers or people I don't know that well. Politics is such a heated thing and seems to be more polarizing now than it has been.

Proper intro, Darthtbone: I like the idea of a smaller, less intrusive government. Stronger regulation, not more regulation. I lean social libertarian. On economics I prefer Hayek over Keynes. I want to keep more the stuff I earn. Being as I don't like big government, I don't like big business either, having seen how both have a tendency to bleed everyone else dry. I want everyone to succeed, but recognize that not everyone can be an astronaut. And there is no shame in the day to day hard work people do.

On a side note, I think America went really wrong when we started denigrating the manual labor jobs, "you don't want to be flipping burgers do you?" Now we have a ton of MBA's who are unemployed, defaulting on loans because they are too good to get their hands dirty.

Finally, I am a Christian; and to me that means following the golden rule, "do unto others as you would have done unto you." And no I am not perfect.
