President Obama evidently got some bad news for his 2012 re-election campaign. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton rejected the opportunity to replace VP Joe Biden on the ticket, according to The Washington Examiner.

WASHINGTONEXAMINER.COM reports:
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was pressed by her husband and a top Obama aide to consider replacing Vice President Joe Biden just a couple of weeks ago, claims the author of the New York Times bestseller The Amateur.

Though I think she'd make a good VP, she is 65 years old and that is a hard, hard job to do at retirement age. We need some younger people in, who think green, who are into impact investment, who know the real deal, come with money they made in technology, and who see exactly how evil Romney and all like him are who want to keep us tied to oil! And I doubt seriously that it was "bad news for Obama." I'm sure he knew it already, in their previous conversations, but it was a polite formality. Geez! Do we really think he gets the news the same time we do? Right.

it is wanted but in vain. So instead we should seek to bring poor Mr. Biden up to the standard of an effective, informed, active vice president. He has done so much less than first lady Michelle Obama has done! He is not stupid, but he needs a speech coach.

People will be voting for the President and always have*. The vice presidency used to be a place someone got put if they wanted him out of the way. Which is why they made Theodore Roosevelt the VP except their worst fears came true when McKinley was assassinated.

I will say that there is one thing that Obama was good for and that was to make Hillary look good; something that I thought could never happen.

yes but the dems have a lot of disenfranchised Hillary voters they'd like to bring back into the fold by putting her on the ticket. They know that 4 more years of Obama will sink the Democratic party for a decade or two without someone like Hillary now.

Obama does not hate the Jews, does he? I don't agree with his treatment and views of Israel, but he is right to speak out if they are causing suffering to the Palestinians. Israel is a Jewish state, but there should be peace.
As far as I know, many of Obama's are Jewish-I know that doesn't prove anything. Either way, apparently, Obama is in danger with the Jewish vote. They aren't too happy with him, or so Commentary Newspaper says anyway.
  • Red Branch ivegotl... 2012/08/22 14:27:42

I would say that he does hate the Jews. Had the Moslem Arabs accepted UN Resolution 181 there would be peace in that area. Had the Moslem Arabs not started 4 wars with Israel, Israel would be a lot smaller. But when aggressors in a war lose, there are consequences and one of which is a loss of land.

Yes, Obama had received a lot of Jewish support in 2008 and he has lost some of it, but how much is not known. There will still be some self-loathing Jews that will still vote for him in 2012.

There would be peace if the Moslem Arabs would stop firing rockets into Israel and staging other terrorist attacks.

The people known as Palestinians were called Moslem Arabs before their defeat in the 1967 War. That can be explained if you wish.

The Palestinians are their own worse enemies and never miss an opportunity to mess things up. Jordan gave the Palestinians a lot of support and let many of them move there. Yet, the Palestinians led by Yasser Arafat attempted to overthrow the King of Jordan. He sent out the Jordanian Legion and killed about 30,000 of them and solved most of the problem.
-Lebanon gave refuge to many Palestinians and they attempted the same thing and ended up getting kicked out of there.

When Israel decided to give up Gaza to the Palestinian Authority, several rich American Jews bought the greenhouses in Gaza because they employed thousands of Palestinians. When the Palestinian Authority took control of Gaza, they allowed the Palestinian massed to destroy those greenhouse and the jobs that went with the.

I think Obama is an intelligent man, who has a genuine belief in the good that his policies will bring to America. However, a lot of them are tied up with ideology- such as with green eenrgy, and involve a lot more spending, which is shirtsighted. Borrwoign will only work for so long.
Hillary ash her faults too. She is too hawkish, and her interference with the ME and other countries is bound to cause more international troubles.

    Obama is intelligent.

You are absolutely correct about the spending.

Yes, his policies are all tied up with his Leftist Ideology and he is the most left of any president to date.

I doubt that there is one thing that Hillary does that is done without Obama's approval.
An American President can ask for the resignation of any Secretary for any cabinet position and have that resignation on his desk immediately. They serve at the will of the President.

Hillary can talk about the Middle East, but it ends there. When it comes to military action, like to commit troops, only the president makes that decision.

Mubarack was not a nice guy, but he was better than what has replaced him. The same could be said of Algeria and Tunisia. Kadaffi was one of the main terrorist supporters in the 1970s and 1980s. After President Reagan had one of his palaces bombed he began to see the error of his ways and started to clean up his act.

In 2003, Kadaffi began to negotiate with the US and the UK with the intention of dismantling his nuclear program and we took out all his materials. Kadaffi was fighting against al Qaeda.

Glad to clarify. It is a disaster.

With his help, a band of Islamic terrorist states stretches from Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, joining with the already established Islamic terrorist states of the Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, and starting on Kenya. Obama was over in Kenya campaigning for a cousin while being a sitting US Senator. The cousin was in the opposition party and when they lost the election they rioted leaving a few thousand dead.

It wasn't until Kadaffi was almost forced out of office that anyone started talking about his WMD, mustard gas and a couple other things, and 10,000 Stinger missiles.

Arrangements could have been made to keep them out of Al Qaeda's arsenal, but nothing was done. If nothing else, they could have been blown up in place. Heat destroys the mustard gas, and the Stinger missiles while still dangerous, were not armed and damage would have been less than they are capable of causing. Scatter the missiles around the world's airports and bring air traffic to a halt with 10,000 planes shot down.

Syria has WMD, they had their own and Saddam had sent a bunch of his stuff there in late 2002, under the guise of flood aid. Mostly poison gasses. 52 cargo planes full. I would say it included lots of Stinger missiles .

Kadaffi was fighting Al Qaeda, which means we helped Al Qaeda take over. Some of these Al Qaeda terrs admitted to killing US trops in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Assad in Syria is also fighting Al Qaeda and I have read where we are sending military supplies to them, though I have not read that from an authoritative source.
