The vast majority of Americans are aware of the success of the Bin Laden mission, and according to the polling, view the President favorably for his participation in the killing of Bin Laden. Due to the politicization of this event, there is little doubt in anyone mind as to the role President Obama played in this mission, since he has since elevated himself to the status of hero of the mission in order to gain the favor of American voters. However in recently disclosed actions leading up to the mission, we find our so called hero of the mission was not willing to accept credit, if the mission had failed. In my opinion, this moves him from a hero to a big fat ZERO

Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey told Sean Hannity that the Obama Administration drafted a memo to protect the President from blame if the mission to kill or capture Obama Bin Laden would have failed

The "hero" status was just a glitch in his operation. he has always been and always will be the Zero in chief.

Now, let's be serious. Do you or anyone out there think that if this mission failed, that OBAMA would take the responsibility? You must have your head up your a$$. Let's look at a little bit of history, shall we? Remember when the marines tried to rescue the Iranian hostages? It was a complte failure, and do you remember who the president was? Yep, Carter. Did Carter take the hit? I don't think so. It's like what JFK said: A HERO HAS MANY FATHERS, A FAILURE IS A BASTARD

    Very good! And right on!

He would NEVER have taken the responsibility if the mission was unsuccessful!

I don't like Carter but it seems to me he did lose political ground on the failed Iranian mission. In any case 444 days plus the economy were enough to do him in. Had the mission succeeded, I think Carter would have gladly accepted the praise but we will never know for sure.

Yes, I didn't like Carter either, I thought that he was one of our weakest president. But, luck wasn't on Carter side either. I'm very familiar with the man that led that fiasco. He lost one hell of a lot of friends with that fiasco also. After that, he wasn't even allowed in the men's room in either the pentagon or the WH

That's awful. Wasn't it just a freak weather thing? I was sad that the mission never suceeded but I didn't fault the military, just bad luck. I'm soooo glad I don't work in D.C. Too many back-stabbers.

Let me say, that every attack must be studied and practiced, and practiced again and again, untill all possibilities have been considered and accounted for. That was never done. Now I know of the one who planned this, and although he is a very brave man, one of the bravest in the military at that time, he never planned or executed anything before that raid. He never accounted for all possibilities. Not the area where he landed and what they were supposed to do after they landed. He got that appointment because he was a good friend of Pres Carter.

no surprise here...if indeed the operators would have failed (only could have happened due to faulty intel), obama would have been quick to throw them under the bus or help them simply vanish. he is a magic guy ya know.

Just like I have been telling these folks on a poll related to this subject, if the mission were to fail Obama would do as he always does blame someone else. This really upset ProudP and Need2no and an interesting conversation ensued.

However the mission succeeded and he once again grabs the flag and runs to the head of the parade...

Even his speeches are Barneyesque. I don't mind so much his shooting HIMSELF in the foot. What REALLY hurts is his slamdunking both the economy and our international standing. We MUST flush this dude.

The military made a touchdown play on a playbook written by the Bush Administration in a way of speaking. Obama had a small part to play for sure but he's like a waterboy coming in to spike the ball. What a joke.

And he wasn't even carrying the water that day. Now I'm hearing they had to get him to come in off the golf course for the photo op.
