the person bowing his head is ashamed that when he had the chance to prevent the murderous attacks of 9/11 he and his administration did absolutely nothing to prevent them ... and he properly will remain ashamed for the rest of his days.

Bush is praying to his Higher Power. Obama believes he is the Higher Power and is basking in the adoration of his followers.

Many christians pray in different ways. Some bow their heads, some look up to the sky, some kneel, etc.

What a beautiful memorial! I get teary whenever I see a picture - I don't think I could stand actually being there. A young woman from the area was in one of the towers.

A glaring problem is people ranting about something that is utterly benign, just because Obama is associated. It shows irrational desperation, in my opinion, and it is sad.

A dear old lady at the Presbyterian church we used to attend stood just the same way, head raised, eyes closed. She said she "liked to feel God's grace shining on her face". Are you saying she was a "pompous, arrogant jerk", a secret Muslim terrorist praying to Allah??!!

Easy answer! Because people alternate between raising their faces or bowing their heads in prayer. Both ways are acceptable.
