You're right. Any surgery at 65 is extremely dangerous and questionable. Many hospitals and doctors are already reluctant to do such treatment. It's nothing new. So......

So at 60-65 it's pretty much over then ? I guess putting them in a wheel chair is cheaper then replacing a knee. Better yet, lets offer assisted suicide so the government won't be stuck buying a wheelchair.

Unless people want to start paying over 50% of their wages to either the Federal government or to a healthcare insurance company, no one will ever be able to afford the continuous, high level health care that you are proposing. Won't matter whether it's government healthcare or private healthcare, it won't be possible.

A wheelchair has to be cheaper then a knee operation ! Putting people out of their misery with an ejection like we do a dog can't be that expensive unless the government intervenes and handles the cost.
This and other similar problems facing this country and the rest of the world is why I continue to buy gold coins, sooner or later the monetary system as we know is going to disintegrate and I think gold / silver will eventually be an accepted form of barter again. Who knows, maybe a bucket of long term survival food might buy us a root canal but it will take a wheel barrel of American dollars to buy a loaf of bread before this situation is over and done. Bad, bad times are coming !

This is just ridiculous and wasn't worth my time because most of it - if not all - is just simply untrue.

First of all, my parents are both retired. Their prescriptions went from $6. for a 90 day supply to well over $300. for a 30 day supply. That's not doom and gloom; that's reality.

Second, you are not going to get a doctor's appointment. You are going to sign in at the doctor's office. If you are lucky, you will be seen that day; if you are unlucky, you will be told to come back the next day and repeat the whole process. You see, all those poor people who are no longer at the ER are going to be taking up chairs at your doctor's office. If they are ahead of you, they will see the doctor before you will.

Third, if you have to have an MRI or other medical procedure, you will be placed on a waiting list. When you are called for your scheduled appointment (not an appointment you make but an assigned appointment made in a government office) you will show up at that appointed day and time. If you are unable to make the appoint which is assigned to you, you will be placed on the bottom of the list and start the whole process over again.

if you think you're going to argue this, all you have to do is look at the UK and Canada, this is an established practice.

I'm glad you mentioned Canada, because during my 38 years I spent probably 20% working at hospitals in the Toronto area servicing and installing Cardio-Vascular labs. Their system is different than ours but people who needed to be treated were seen and treated quickly. The same goes for patients in Holland and Germany.
BTW, what type of insurance do your parents have that their prescription are costing so much? My 90 day supply of maintenance drugs haven't changed a cent. I also get seen on the day that I call my doctors office and that goes for my annual physical as well. For a physical I might have to go in the next day.
Way too many people spread bad rumors about something that is basically good but probably needs some modifying. I downloaded the entire law several months ago from the GPO, but lost interest in reading it because I found nothing that was outstanding. I think more people should do the same. When people bring up arguing points they should include the page and line numbers for reference.

We need an intelligent solution to our medical care problems. Not this stuff that Obummer did. It will bankrupt America and IMO, not constitutional.

it really doesnt matter. It gets upheld, over 60 percent of the american people dont like it and will vote anyone into office to get rid of it. It gets thrown out, the dems will use that as a campaign platform, once again the american people will vote anyone into office to make sure it stays gone. the repubs win either way I say its a win win

Do you know how long the dems have been trying to shove healthcare down our throats, along with the so-called Share the Wealth scheme? Try the 1930s. This is the same old song re-vamped to look like a bright new idea.

What amazes me the only country to put a man on the moon cant figure out health care. The so called OCA is a joke. it has less to do with health care than population control. What does the federal govt having access to my bank account have to do with health care? The bill was never read, never studied, and obama lied. during the campaign he said all bills would be on the net two weeks before being voted on. That really worked didnt it? But then who is holding obama accountable

There has to be a lawful reason to rescind any part of it. Something being new does not qualify. Income tax was new, FDIC was new, Social Security was new, Medicare was new, Civil Rights laws were new, people were against those too but no legal reason was found to have them contrary to existing law.

This healthcare bill is NOT new. This thing has been around since at least the 1930s but has never been passed into law. It has failed in every forum yet the democrats insist upon bringing up this old stale bill again and again. Share the Wealth is just as old and stale. It's about time the democrats joined us in the 21st century instead of staying stuck way back in time.

When the law was drafted they forgot if any section blows up the rest stays. Well one of the justices commented this is cruel and unusual punishment to go section by section what stands and what falls.
