This summer, a Cuban-American radio presenter in Florida asked Mitt Romney what his favourite types of fruit are.
"I am a big fan of mango, papaya, and guava," Mr Romney replied.
The hosts could not suppress their laughter: "papaya" is Cuban slang for vagina.

I read once that JFK, when he made his "I am a Berliner" speech at the Berlin wall, used the word for a pastry, not a resident of Berlin.
(edit to add) Besides, I'd assume a guy with five kids liked papaya.
