Have you seen the lame movie trailer blamed for the Middle Eastern violence happening now?

Ok I watched it. It was the stupidest, lamest thing I have ever seen. I could do better in my basement with friends. Secondly it was sooo very bad I did not want to watch it or cared to. It was like someone trying to make fun of Cheech & Chong and they were already drunk! I had a hard time following it. It was like the guy who I think was Muhammad was drunk and a total stooge. If this sets people off to kill, burn, rape, murder, and attack Americans, Jews and Western Countries then we have bigger issues because it's so darn lame! Getting angry at this would have to show that you are the lamer then it! I don't think anyone would ever have gotten past the trailer of this dumb thing if it wasn't causing people to go insane in the middle east. All I have to say is that obviously the people going wild just needed any excuse and their so called holy men are using this awfully poor stupid film as it. I mean pick your fights it's not even funny it's just awful.

I got curious and watched it (Lol, I'm a terrible Muslim) and it really was terrible, badly made, terrible acting and really un-thought out or truthful!
I can see why all the Muslims are upset.....but they are taking it waaaaay too far! As much as I love Arabs and Muslims, it seems that they are EXTREMELY quick to overreact, especially concerning Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and anything concerning religion.

I agree. Also if Muslims want to get better press they should act with more understanding. Protests are fine but gee peaceful please.

Yeah, I agree. I still stand by my belief that all Muslims are not crazy psychotic terrorists and killers, but when things like that happen, done by Muslims, they sure don't make a good case for Muslims in general.

Yeah, it sucks. Gaurdian UK had an article up about it and they did some digging and discovered that one of the people behind this is an ex-Egyptian who hates the current governement and made this with the intent of stirring people up and cause riots and death. I was told, but can't 100% confirm, that the other major player on this film was that minister who wanted to burn the Koran.

The riots were terrible and the loss of lives deplorable and those responsible for the deaths should be arrested and dealt with. People need to deal with this sort of thing in a better way. When they kill and riot, they go against what every major religion preaches. But I also believe that those who made the film are also responsible since they made it with the intent to cause harm. They should also be brought to justice.

So I guess this means all other religions and free speech and anyone who says anything about Islam will be killed or their countrymen..so that would mean that Islam is a religion of terror follow us or we kill you, intimidate you, or we threaten to kill you? Ok not the religion of peace I guess after all. It the intent of the film was to show Islam was not a peaceful religion then well it succeeded on that point didn't it now? Also it was widely broadcast across Egypt..gee did they want to stir up things or what???
  • Freedom Barbi Rose 2012/09/16 03:05:38

Someone sure wanted to stir things up is right. I think that the film was ignorant but the reaction was ignorant as well.

But before we judge everyone there, let's keep in mind that Egypt is a country of over 90 million people. There were what, maybe a 1000 protestors out on the streets? I don't know if we can say that this relatively small group represents the entire group. Its like judging every Christian based upon the Westboro Baptist Church. Every group has it's extremists, unfortunately.

A religion should rise above the petty goals of man to honor it's god in a way that shows the best of it's god. To act out as has been done is to show that your god is not merciful and all understanding. The leaders of Friday Prayers should have preached peace not go and get em guys.

Oh please people have died because of this. Peopled died because of cartoons. It is a capital offence to switch from Islam to other religions in other countries. A guy was to be executed in Iran recently but do to world outcry..he was let go gee because he switched to being a Christian...it's not about the film. Also you can't be duped unless you allow it. You do get to read the script.

If that piece of crap encited the deadly events of the other day, it shows that certain people lack a sense of humor. That thing might as well have been directed by Ed Wood, written by Rain Man, and cast by Helen Keller.

I suggest you read up on Islam. Under Islam you cannot EVER produce an image, picture, likeness of Mohammed. You can't joke about him or the religion. If you do, you are beheaded. If a woman is accused of adultery, whether it's true or not, she is buried up to her neck in the ground and then a crowd of men stone her to death. You must have seen the way they make the women dress. Any piece of skin showing will result in a beating. Even their eyes are veiled in some places.
Men rule with an iron fist and there's no arguing with that.
People tell me that most Muslims are not violent and it's not a violent religion. Maybe that's true of some. I honestly can't say because I don't know any Muslims. But there is a large number of Muslims who live by this Sharia Law and, as a woman, your life would be in jeopardy every, single day.
How do we deal with that kind of mentality? I don't know.

    Barbi Rose
Yeah you are partially right but in the USA we are one nation under god not Islam!
  • Pat Barbi Rose 2012/09/15 19:21:22

You know that there is a separation of church and state in the U.S., right?

When you say "god" it can mean many different things to different people. Christians, Jews, and Muslims are all descended from Abraham. All three call "god" by different names but he is the same "god".

Other religions, such as Pagans and Wiccans, have many gods and godesses associated with nature.

We also have Hindus, Buddhists, various Asian religions and others.

While the largest number of Americans may be Christian, we are NOT a Christian nation. The Founding Fathers were extremely careful not to associate any specific religious beliefs with our nation or government.

Estimates are that there are around 5 million Muslims in the U.S. and that number could double by 2020.

So, as Americans, no one religious group can legitimately claim a particular "god" for this country.

I have a hard time understanding the outrage as well. I try to empathize, but the best I can do is that it's not my religion, and I don't understand it. Personally, I think it's petty to throw a fit, if someone uses an image of your deity. Yeah, They picked a total malook to play Mohammed, but they would have freaked out even if Mohammed were the hero. The crazier part is they believe that the Government somehow regulates the content on You Tube. That's simply a power they haven't acquired...Yet!

That's a good question. How Come the Irish never had a Peace march against the IRA, or Italians march to denounce the Mafia, or any prominent Christian try to at least separate themselves from the Westboro Baptist Church or Terry Jones? If I had to guess it would be that Peace Marches have yet to result in Peace.

You can look it up online. I'm not going to tick off anyone by putting it up. But it was so stupid and such nonsense if this drove people into the streets in the thousands then they are not the religion of peace. I also find it appalling that the Clerics and Imams who lead these so called Friday prayers would whip up their followers into a frenzy of this! I'd laugh it off and tell my people, we are the religion of peace this is hardly nothing more then a misguided attempt to prove we are not the religion of peace to let us take the high road it is not worth even talking about! To do as they are doing now over this shows me that talking rationally with people who act his way will not work, sadly. There is the old adage of picking your fights this is hardly worth fighting for. And now these people, poor, broke living in squalor barely scraping by now some of there holy men have put a 100,000 dollar bounty to kill the guy who supported this film (gee not even the guy who made it or the actors! shows lots of brain power there!) So now a leader and teacher of the religion of peace is calling for a execution..right. Sounds like these people should not even be allowed into the USA right now.
