I spent time time reading some of the thing in the stimulus bill. Everyone should read it. Monies are to be spent to:
:education and out11
reach, including grants to organizations for programs to
12 educate vulnerable populations, including senior citizens,
13 minority communities, people with disabilities, low-income
14 individuals, and people living in rural areas, about the
15 transition and to provide one-on-one assistance to vulner16
able populations, including help with converter box instal17
lation:"
"for nutrition assistance for eligible households under the consolidated block 21 grants for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico 22 and American Samoa"
"For an additional amount for ‘‘Tactical Law Enforce10
ment Wireless Communications’’, $200,000,000 for the
11 costs of developing and implementing a nationwide Inte12
grated Wireless network supporting Federal law enforce13
ment, to remain available until September 30, 2010." Wonder WHERE they will be made????
"CROSS AGENCY SUPPORT
2 For an additional amount for ‘‘Cross Agency Sup3
port’’, $250,000,000, to remain available until September
4 30, 2010." Cross agency suppport??
"NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION
10 RESEARCH AND RELATED ACTIVITIES
11 For an additional amount for ‘‘Research and Related
12 Activities’’, $1,200,000,000, to remain available until Sep13
tember 30, 2010." Research of what?
There is money for American Indians and Hawaiian Indians to recieve broadband and "acquire equipment, instrumentation,
4 networking capability, hardware and software,
5 digital network technology, and infrastructure
6 for broadband services;
7 (B) construct and deploy broadband serv8
ice related infrastructure;
9 (C) ensure access to broadband service"

I have not read it all but I am wondering where is the stimulus to the American economy.

This is not a stimulus bill. This is all the pork bills that the Democrats want and are passing them off as a stimulus. What, do they think we are stupid??? They want to raise taxes and increase spending. They are out of their minds with power. Fortunately the Republicans are holding the line in our behalf. Obama said he would be happy to hear bipartisan suggestions if they have anything worthwhile to listen to. To me he is saying, say what you want but your not getting it. The people however are beginning to speak and tell the Dems that they know what they are up to and we don't want it. 60% of the people in the latest poll say no. Write your Senators and tell them that it's time to do something for the people for a change and take out the pork and special interest. Tell them you want a line by line disclosure and who's behind each one. Obama promised full disclosure, well let's see it.

No, no full disclosure by the person urging it to quickly be pushed through. This thing is very dangerous and must be stopped. I am very serious about writing your senators. I have already written about this and I wrote about the appointment of Senator Gregg to Sec. of Commerce. Obama wants you to think he is showing bipartisanship, what he is really up to is, if Gregg accepts, this the governor will appoint a Senator. A DEMOCRATIC SENATOR. They are trying to get a back door to getting yet another senate seat filled by a democrat. I wrote directly to Gregg and asked him to decline the appointment for just this reason.

They should send every AMERICAN twenty five to 30 thousand dollars to help pay bills and buy what they need. This would get people shopping again, therefore business would increase, less layoffs and this would help the economy and would be far less expensive then global warming research, seeding the White House Lawn, Std studies, buying new government vehicles etc.etc.etc. Just yesterday Obama disclosed he wants to cut defense spending but he is in favor of the wasteful spending. DOES THIS MAKE SENSE TO YOU?????????

Makes no sense to me! But this is more of Obama's smoke and mirrors that so many sheeple have fallen for!

The problem with just giving every American money is that when some of the people blow their money and don't pay their bills they will complain that some of us got more because we have sense enough to spend it correctly.

I respectfully disagree. I think that this would make a huge impact on most people of the lower and middle class. This would give them some breathing room. Some would use the money for bill paying while others would go out and spend it. Either way, the money is changing hands and impacting the economy. This is a small impact on a major problem, but, it is a step in the right direction. On the other hand, what Obama proposes is worthless. Nothing in his plan will help anytime soon if ever. By the time anything in his bill begins to work we will have already healed or completely fallen on our face economically. Let's face it folks, this pork-filled crab bag he is passing off as a stimulus bill is just all the special interest goodies that the dems having been wanting and are passing it off as a bailout. GIVE ME A BREAK.

I live in a part of the country that was beseiged by people from New Orleans after Katrina. These people expect the government to pay for everything, they do no work, do not want to work and are a blight on our society and welfare system. Rather than give them more money to spend on drugs and booze I would rather see a large tax break for people who actually work and pay taxes, that way, they would have money to spend on other things and would stimulate the economy.

I agree with you that this bill is full of crap and we as a people must work very hard to assure it's failure.

I agree completely but be aware that he does not care what the people want. 60% of the people are against this stimulus bill (and I use the term very loosely) but he is vigorously trying to push it through.

The part that got me the most was the money set aside to give all congressmen new cars.....I want a new car...but my budget will not allow it right now.

Agreed! Good Lord, and why not use their pay increase they JUST got to buy their own damn car? Who the heck decided it was a good idea to give then that? They deserve it, why? If you are a Rep, the "Patriotic Thing To Do" would have been to NOT take an increase in pay or at the least freeze thier increase! When are they going to wake up?

Yes and it will NOT help the economy. The main thing it does is pay back democrats for their support of Obama. It is so laden with pork it's frightening. They are banking on most people not reading it and believing the media PR they put out. This is why they need to rush it through..... before the majority have a clue.

Yes , I've read it and NO it will not help the American people.
This is a spending bill not a stimulus.
All it does - is help the special interest groups/lobbiest that helped barak get elected.
This is nothing more than one big payoff.

If you research this bill you'll find that Nancy Pelosi allotted 33million dollars to a company that her husband owns 17million in stock.......this bill is more about helping all the Democrats buddies and their own personal wallets - not the American People.

I just decided to start reading it this morning and I was floored by what I have read so far. The sheeple need to read this very closely, perhaps it will open their eyes.
