Every year, December 31 rolls around and I’m forced to acknowledge that I’ve spent the entire month eating tons of cookies. After I acknowledge that my eating habits have been awry, the realization comes that I need to eat salad, cut out the high-calorie cocktails and work out every day for the next year. I try to cut back and work out, but a month later, the old habits return as quickly as they left.

I spoke with Dr. Martin Binks, clinical director & CEO of Binks Behavioral Health, to learn the top 5 reasons why resolutions fail, and to find the solution to making this year more successful.

It is much better to resolve to DO something, rather than to not do something.
As soon as you do the thing you resolved not to do (maybe February) you end up feeling guilty about it.

If you resolve to DO something, you have a full year to achieve your goal.

My resolution is to flush after I piss. I often don't flush when I only piss because it wastes water and I'm only gonna piss again later anyway. But its been staining my terlit, so ya, I need to start flushing. Maybe not every time, but once a day at least.

As everyone should, I make resolutions all year round. It is not like the problems you need resolving only occur around New Year's. Anytime is a good time to resolve to make a positive change.

I don't normally make resolutions, as I usually wind up failing, LOL BUT, this year I would like to find a plan that has you read the entire Bible in one year. I've never read the whole book and I think I would like to, just to be able to say I have and also to see what I might learn. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this feat are greatly appreciated!!

1- To get more sleep everynight.
2- To spend less time on the internet and that means SH too and put priorities first.
3- Never give a man too many chances when it's obvious he'll never change.
4- Avoid like the plague a man who plays head games.
5- Don't trust a man who doesn't keep his promises and his word. He is a waste of time and a liar.
6- Drink lots of water and stay on a healthy diet to avoid kidney stones again.

Not this New Year. Due to economy, expected increase in taxes and cost of living in 2013 due to massive government punishment for its spending habits.... decided to not make any resolutions except to what out for the worse.
