yesterday i was talking to my bdff zach and he told me on the phone that this was the last time to talk to him that he over dosed on insalin and he was gonna die ! i beged him crying almost blood on the phone asking him not to telling him if he went that would go with him !!! he just wouldnt listin to me he kept saying i love u dont cry i dont belong in this world ! i told him if he didnt than i didnt and if he killed him self that i would hate him forever told him that he promised me we weoul be bestest diabetic friends forever and ever to infiniti and beyond and that i wanted us to be friends till we were 100 or older !!and that god put him on this earth for a reason! finally he listend to me and he stoped and thanked me for saveing his life!!! i couldnt stop crying for the rest of the day and now i thank god every day that hes still alive!ahhh i cant beleve i almost lost my bestest friend **cries**

poor you, I'm glad you he listened to you! losing a friend you obviously care for would be awful.

one of my ex-boyfriends tried to kill himself twice, when he told me I have never cried soooo much in my life. But thank goodness he never actually went through with it..

no need for **cries**.. coz both of us still have our friend with us today!! :) :)

No, but I've sometimes had the desire to commit suicide listening to friends rambling on the phone and not knowing when to hang up.

Yes I have, but by calling they are asking for you to stop them. It sounds like you did a good job, and I am glad to hear that you are letting a family member know so they can make sure he gets the help that he is going to need.

Yes, I've experienced that. A few years ago, a good friend of mine with extremely low self esteem and uncaring parents was tired of his life and how he did not fit in. He told me I was the only one who cared about him but even so, he wanted to die. I held my breath as he told me he had a sharp knife in his hand placed dangerously close to his wrist. He was dead serious. We talked for hours and hours, and I managed to convince him not to do it. By the end of that conversation, he and I were emotionally drained.
I'm glad I was there to stop him because he is about to graduate from medical school :)

awww im so sorry for zach he seems like a sweet kid i feel sorry for him becaue the thing hes not the only kid that wants to kill themself there are others out there wishing you know its just that some people dont have a freind to tell them no or to convince them not to do it zach is lucky to have you and your lucky to have him. even though you two dont live close to each other amy i think he needs your help more than ever. talk to him trust me it works. sometimes all the person needs is someone there to listen,
