Has Sodahead allowed itself to be taken over by hate speech?

And I wouldn't have it any other way. If you walk down the streets you never know what the person walking by you thinks of you are thinking. Sodahead, and the internet as a whole give people an avenue to be who they truly are without reprocussion. Is so-called "hate speech" wrong... really? I don't think so. It simply is what it is. Do we think that we should censor the only thing we have left (internet/blogosphere) to truly speak our minds? I've seen some extremely hurtful language, but also the free exchange of unfiltered ideas. One cannot exist without the other.

I personally avoid any questions that have to do with hate. Hate is just another word for Fear, So I choose to not be sucked up by the negativity. I'm not naive, I know what's going on in this world, but spewing hateful and negative comments will bring me into the place I worked so many years to get out of. When I was a kid I remember my parents talking about the same exact problems were talking about today, and that was 50 years ago, so worrying about them isn't going to change it, instead, bitching about everything is what keeps the problems alive.

It is all part of the blogging, especially when it comes to politics. I just avoid the posts with lots of capital letters and exclamation points.

If you allow yourself to be taken over by those full of hatred then yes. It's all in the way you handle yourself & what you will & to what extent you'll pay attention to evil.

I don't want to tell anyone how to live. I have enough problems living my own life, let alone worry about how others should live theirs.

I have no problem with hate. Or people saying they hate something. Most people hate something. I have problems with infantile name calling where they cannot address a thing or person by its actual name. I also don't care for vulgar profane terms. And I don't care for polls with three or four of the same exact choices. I try to give a choice that is opposite of my personal point of view as well as a choice of "Other" so someone can say anything that they wish about anything.

SH, just like society, just like politics is made up of many types of people.

So no, SH is not allowing anything. People are speaking their mind and there seems to be quite of bit of anger behind what is stated in some of the posts around here. I see this with ALL different types on here. It does make me sad that so many are so quick to blame one section of the populace for the many problems we face. Like that will solve anything. What I really don't like seeing is the posts about people thinking the answer is warring on their neighbors. But, as Einstein once said, "Only two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."

It's ALWAYS been this way. Everyone is slinging mud, not just the right, or the left, or even the religious or nonreligious and everyone in between. That's just like life off this site, too.

If you were to convene a jury and ask them to indict or convict the groups most responsible for all the strife that the world has seen over the last 4,000 years, the atheists and agnostics would be the most likely to be found innocent on all charges. I could defend this position against anyone you could throw at me. The organized religions and the political types (My way is right and the only way and I will prove my point by sacrificing my children and killing theirs in it's defense). No atheist or agnostic group has ever done that. They have merely been excluded and marginalized by every society for not "towing the line" and buying into social control mechanisms that basically involved every generation blackmailing the next in order to cover their own lies, or unproven beliefs. Now we use a legal system that is deliberately so complex as to be versatile enough to blackmail anyone at any time who does not go along. What the middle management types who enforce said systems, in all societies, don't realize, is that the elites have been using the lie and confuse tactic to enrich themselves and leave everyone else one paycheck away from severe distress. Lies, lies and blackmail.
