Well it has not been just Obama, it has been the two parties themselves. They both parties have made it so that their corporate backers benefit from sending jobs off shore. Both parties have ignored immigration laws so, that the peoples wages would be driven down from illegals doing the work cheaper. Both parties have spent like drunken sailors at a Philippine Whorehouse, driving the value of the dollar down. Both parties have allowed continued control of the US Dollar by a private banking cartel made up of non-American entities. Both parties have skillfully divided the American People through legislation that benefits one group over another by causing the resentment of the other. It is due to the two parties and their members being world citizens first and Americans second, done through trade treaties disadvantaging the US citizen. The problem is just not Obama but the current two parties in charge of the whole show. So until they are wrested from power we are doomed to worse than mediocrity, unless the course is changed.
He has set us on the road to poor, third world country, dependent upon whatever the government wants to give us so the government can ship our wealth overseas because the gov thinks we're the bad guys in the world. And by gov, I mean dems and WH, and if any stupid repub falls into this category, fire his butt today and never let him darken the halls of congress again.
It's no one mans fault. Not Bush's, not Obama's, not Clinton's, or anyone else. The state of this country is due to our government as a whole. We should put every single man out of office, then elect REAL leaders.
No, Obama did NOT do this. We were already headed down that road long before Obama showed up. I will provide one example. Several years back, the American automobile industry found some formidable competition from the Japanese automobile industry. The American's had become lazy and complacent and were turning out a sloppy, poorly constructed product, largely because of the union mind-set and the lack of competition. The American's heeded the wake-up call and started COMPETING with a better product and better production. The industry is to be commended for waking up and getting back in the game on a competitive basis. It's unfortunate that in order to get these folks to turn out a good product, that the product has to be priced out of sight of any consumer that isn't sporting and high-paying union job!
I believe that the RWNJs and the evangelical GOP base are responsible for most of that. Who wants to cut access and funding to education? Republicans, that's who. Who wants powerful and extremely wealthy corporations to be thought of as people and have the same rights as individual Americans? Who wants to limit access to affordable healthcare? Conservatives, that's who.
The Extreme Right of the once Grand Old Party have been working 24/7 to do just that....sending us down the road and into the ditch of mediocrity. I would add should they prevail, god forbid, we will not only be mediocre, we'll be well on our way to being a third world country.
Sure would have helped if the Party that made most of the mess he was handed had rolled up their sleeves and went to work helping to solve that mess instead of being determined to make him fail and not giving a fig if the whole country failed with him, now wouldn't it?
They never had total control. It takes 60 votes in the Senate to pass anything. They had 60 on paper, but they had people like Joe Lieberman, Ben Nelson, Jim Webb, Blanche Lincoln and Mary Landrieu in their caucus, and they often voted with the Republicans. So the total control thing was a myth.
most of us know when the democrats run either house or both that they only care about how much money they can spend as we have seen with today's democratic politicans and the meetings behind closed doors and them skipping out.
Of course Obama had to borrow more money to try to get us out of Bush's recession. I know four years is a long time for you to remember, but he inherited a severe recession, two wars of choice, a deep deficit caused by tax cuts for the rich, and a prescription boondoggle for the pharmaceutical industry, all of it unpaid-for. And there was no cash in the treasury, due to limited revenues.
What was he supposed to do? Sit back and wait for the markets to take care of it? We would definitely be in a depression.
He enacted ARRA, which included a middle-class tax cut, and saved and created more than five million jobs and counting. Then he bailed out the auto industry, saving another 1.3 million jobs. Most economists agree that ARRA was the only thing that saved the economy from completely cratering, and the auto bailout stabilized the economies in several states, including Michigan and Ohio.
Now Romney wants credit for the auto bailout after opposing it at the time.
The point is, Obama had to spend more to get the economy off of its back. Econ 101 tells us that when consumer and business spending stops, as it had in 2008, the government must step in with its own spending to stimulate the economy.
We still have a long way to go for a full recovery, but at least the economy is out of critical condition.
no he didn't,obama didn't have to bail any thing or anybody out,he did that on his own because democrats love spending money. Our economy is far from being out of critical condition. No jobs and people are giving up looking.
You have a short memory. The CEO's of the Big Three auto companies all came to Washington begging for a bailout. They weren't as worried about the 1.3 million jobs as they were about their own, even though they all have golden parachutes.
We are in our 31st consecutive month of job growth in the private sector. Unfortunately, Republican governors keep firing public-sector workers, trying to keep the numbers even.
It will take a few more years to fully recover from Bush's recession. The economists knew that. It could take until the end of Obama's second term. Bush really screwed things up.
The clowns who voted for him? 69 million people voted for him, an all-time record for any election in U.S. history. You are saying that many intelligent voters are all clowns?
You didn't answer the question. How did the Democratic party start "this whole mess?"
