Hamas wants to kill all Israelis. Is Israel being too compassionate in Gaza?

SodaHead Politics 2009/01/07 00:38:16
Yes, if Hamas had the weapons of Israel, they would wipe Israel off the earth.
No, Israel is going way too far and much more than an eye for an eye.
I think that Israel's reaction to Hamas is...
You!

The United States and European Union classify Hamas as a terrorist group bent on destroying Israel. Hamas uses their control of Gaza as a base to launch attacks on neighboring Israel. With Hamas' rocket attacks hitting deeper into enemy territory, Israel has struck back hard with ground troops and air strikes.

Both sides have tried truces without success. Israel has previously shown reluctance in attacking Hamas, but their options are growing limited. Israel counterattacked to stop the rocket attacks from Hamas. Some nations and organizations have criticized Israel's attack, calling it "disproportionate" or an overreaction. Others simply expressed a desire to end the cycle of violence.

Israel's response to Hamas involves an egregious amount of civilian collateral -- given this, I'm very surprised with the tone of this question.

For sure the top option, no doubt. It's Hamas's dream to wipe Israel off the earth.

Unfortunately, Neturei Karta groups (I know about them) present the other kind of enemies for Israel. It's very hard to believe in, but it's true. Ultra-orthodox Jews who are against Israel's existence. I can not find words to describe these idiotic people.

Hamas was the one who just recently has provoked Israel to start a war, The Israeli found quite a few bombs on Ashkelon and Ashdod's beaches, and thanks God the bombs were detonated.

Do you all guys deny it? I repeat: it's Hamas who provokes a war, and if Israel takes any military action he will be to blame. HOW FAIR IS THAT?

Yet another fact which Israeli intellegence manage to keep out of mainstream News media...the Shministim....
"A year ago today, tens of thousands demanded the release of Israel's youngest prisoners of conscience, the Shministim.
These 12th graders courageously chose prison time over serving in the occupying Israeli army".

Unrest after Israeli raid on Al-Aqsa

Israeli forces amass in East Jerusalem`s Old City [MaanImages]
Jerusalem – Ma'an – At least 30 Palestinians were injured and 20 arrested when clashes between Israeli forces and youth erupted anew in the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem on Sunday, Palestinian and Israeli officials said.

In violence that followed a reported police raid on the sensitive Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, Israeli forces fired stun grenades, tear-gas canisters and rubber-coated bullets at protesters. Palestinian youth hurled stones and set tires and piles of trash ablaze, according to Ma'an's correspondent, who was reporting from the scene.

Among the injured were five Palestinian journalists: Maysa Abu Ghazaleh, a reporter for Palestine News Network; Diala Jweihan, a reporter for Quds Net; Mahfuth Abu Turk, a photographer for Reuters; Ata Iweisat, a photojournalist; and Mahmoud Ilieyan, a photographer for the Al-Quds newspaper, a medic confirmed.

A second medic, Muhammad Al-Hawash of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, said a reporter for a London radio station had been struck in the face with a rock and was taken to hospital.

I'kremah Sabri, the Al-Aqsa Mosque's orator, on Saturday urged the international community to implement all UN resolutions were issued since 1948 concerning the Palestinian cause.

His statements came on the anniversary of the UN Charter's ratification, when the world reasserts its commitment to preserving peace, providing security and helping those in need.

"Security and peace cannot be achieved in the region so long as settlement, expulsions of Palestinians, and violations of their rights continues," Sabri said, noting that successive Israeli government had failed to fulfill previously signed agreements.

that is just about the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard
    Myth: Israel created Hamas
Fact: Israel had nothing to do with the creation of hamas. The organization grew out of the ideology and practice of the islamic fundamentalist muslim brotherhood movement that arose in egypt in the 1920's. Israel did not view hamas as a threat when it was first created. The israeli government did not create hamas, but saw it as a good tool in weakening the PLO. Israel did not do anything to hamas, attack nor help it. They just let it do whatever it wanted, which would have, and did, ultimately weaken the PLO.
To prove that Hamas never viewed israel as a friend, they passed out a primer on how members of hamas and the people of gaza should behave if confronted by the shin bet.
Who did help hamas? Jordan actively helped hamas. the muslim brotherhood actively helped hamas, and iran has been actively helping hamas. Israel never helped hamas, but merely turned a blind eye towards them in the early 80's. israel saw their threat and began pursuing them in 1988.
In no way whatsoever did israel create hamas.

wow, ok, thats pretty funny. You talk about liars and deceivers, but in islamic law you have the "taqiyya" which literally translates to "lie and deceive".
Secondly, how did mossad create hamas? do you have any evidence? or are you just throwing around dangerous statements?

If I were a Palestinian, I'd get Hamas, Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, the IRA, and every other terrorist organization on my side. Another country is going to be allowed to starve my children and prevent me from working? I don't think so!! If that were to happen here, my enemy's enemy would soon become my ally. There is only so much a dog is going to take before it bites back. Israel is the most nuclear capable country and military force in the Middle East. Palestine is but a blister on the pinky-toe of Israel, yet the bully keeps picking.

organizations such as latet, shevet achim, isra-aid .... the list goes on
provide free food and health care to the people living in the palestinian terriotires including hamas. However, you must perservere. In order to take down the zionist order, do not let your kids eat food coming from these organizations. And after a rocekt shot by hamas accidentally lands in palestinian territory, injuring some children, do not let these blood thirsty jews get their hands on your kids by treating their wounds for free. Even though such services are offered to all palestinians throughout israel for free by charitable israeli organizations, your will must be stronger!!!
(notice the sarcasm, you are an idiot... israel has more organizations which attempt to provide every sort of humanitarian aid to the palestinians than every other country put together)

You're kidding me, right? I believe you might want to consider reading further than the source from where you are getting your information. The UN HAS charged Israel and it's a FACT that they are preventing relief from getting to the Gaza Strip as well as allowing civilians to cross the border to work, fish, or access water. Cynthia McKinney was damn near blown out of the water trying to bring relief to the Gaza Strip. Her group was but one example.

    Sylvanas
and those groups do not include UN food aid programs or the red cross, which israel made clear are the only two groups that they will allow in.
You have research about groups that israel does not let in, ill give you a few that israel does let it:
Shevet Achim, Latet, Brotherly Covenant, Isra-Aid

It's obvious you and I are at an impasse concerning this issue. You are free to continue beating a dead horse, if you like. In the meantime, I'm damn worried about our own rogue government and a gargantuan health care bill that is going to monopolize the industry so that even the Obama followers are going to get screwed along with the rest of us.

    Okay.

I support the people of Israel as well as Jews all over the world the same way I support ALL of God's children. I do not support the actions of the Israeli government for a variety of reasons, most of them being similar to reasons I don't support my own government, here in the US.

Disapproval of Israeli policy doesn't equate support for Hamas. I don't know of anyone, other than someone in Hamas, who supports Hamas.

I will say, though, that if I were put in the position that I wasn't allowed to work so that I could put food on the table for my family, I would employ Hamas, the Taliban, Al Qaeda, the Irish Republican Army, or whoever it took to retaliate on my behalf so I could feed my family.
