The news media loves a tragedy. People tune in to watch. Television news, in particular, benefits from its live coverage instead of its in-depth, thoughtful analysis. The TV news only has to show pictures or a live feed of a crime scene to attract millions of viewers. The written media criticizes mass media for its "half-assed reporting." What do you think?
