The news media loves a tragedy. People tune in to watch. Television news, in particular, benefits from its live coverage instead of its in-depth, thoughtful analysis. The TV news only has to show pictures or a live feed of a crime scene to attract millions of viewers. The written media criticizes mass media for its "half-assed reporting." What do you think?

    I'm glad to see many others don't as well.What bugs me more than anything though is that covering the same damned thing for however long they're going to cover it straight strikes me not only as exploitation, but is giving the killer exactly one of the things he wants:Undivided attention.

    If I remember correctly, some site already has, and, it's working the other way too.. Breitbart's site reported that he was likely a registered Democrat.

    It's pretty pathetic that people on both sides are using this as political fire.

    I see most people are wise and do not trust main stream media. I believe they are under pressure to spin the stories to suit their liberal agenda. Many things happen that the news does not even report on at all. It used to be that the media reported what sold but now, they report what suits their political views. For instance: Where is Sheriff Joe's coverage? Although many may not agree with him, many others do and it would sell if they reported it but it might offend the liberals. The public deserves to hear news and decide what they believe, not be distracted by issues that are not really news and ignore facts.
