Had the Colorado Shootings been the same if there were potentially armed patrons watching the movie?

A friend posted the comment
below about the Colorado shooting .... he seems to always think outside the box.

I wonder too if a theater full of potentially armed patrons would have
changed things. Would that whacko screwball hav...e even contemplated such a
thing, knowing he'd face a birrage of bullets as soon as he brandished a weapon?
If he did anyhow, would the injury and fatality count been significantly
lower?

in TEXAS where there really is a potential for armed citizens. You will notice this kind of foolishness is not condoned.

Probably. Element of surprise, smoke filled room, darkness, and perp in full body armor with gas mask without a head shot in the melee it would have been difficult to stop him even if a patron had been armed. Outcome the same or similar.

If I was there I would have shot him.

Yes, I know he had armor on, but I would not have known that at the time and I would have taken a shot.

in the smoke, the dark and the melee you would need a large particle of luck, but of course who wouldn't have taken the shot. I would have as well.

Come on, he was spraying in a packed room with an AR-15 and a 12 gauge shotgun! Are you kidding? You would have one specific target, he didn't care who he shot......got it?

It's a terrible thing that has happened in Colorado.Loss of life for absolutely no reason except for a nutcase with a gun.Had others been carrying he would have been shot dead on the spot. I lived in South Carolina for a while and we were aloowed to carry there. If you saw anything happen and you could stop it we were encouraged to do so even by the police. In south carolina that wouldn't have happened.He wouold have been shot after he got his first shot off.
