Given the increasingly uncertain political and economic climate, it’s no big surprise that people are continuing to buy guns in record numbers. However, at this stage it’s surpassed just an issue of being record numbers. We’d say guns are selling like hotcakes, but there might not be market data showing that hotcakes sell this fast.

How rabid is the desire for guns? Three months ago, Ruger Firearms stopped accepting orders for new weapons altogether because they couldn’t keep up with the demand. And if these stock numbers are correct, guns are practically the new gold.

    Thanks much for the advice. I have been going to the gun range with my Dad and uncles since I was a teen (we had a great gun range at Diversey Harbor, but of course, the commies closed it long ago, said it was a health issue), I just love it. Now, it is a serious matter for me.

    Nice. A friend of mine has one of those puppy's and loves it.
    I'm more into the 45 ACP thing because of military experience with them although I did have a Rueger .357 Black Hawk at one time. It was an awesome gun. I finally gave it to my brother and it disappeared into the ether after he died. Relatives I guess.

    That's too ironic that you mentioned the 45, my Dad was an MP and I would bust him all the time breaking out his footlocker and cleaning it when my Mom wasn't around! I never ratted on him. I was just thinking about that this morning! ; )

    edit: That sucks that your bro's gun disappeared. Geesh. Sorry about that.

    People do fall in love with their 45 ACP.

    When people die relatives do come in and clean out the gun collection. It is sad but it happens.

    Guns are a basic right. Now the real question is... Are we arming ourselves to overthrow the Dems and Repubs? Or are we arming ourselves for a total revolution to get back to basics and kick out corporatism and cronyism, WTO and globalization ruining this country? Hmmm... Why are guns so popular? Any logical reason escapes me... ;-)
