Gun Sales on the Rise: What's to Blame?

Mass hysteria.

Obama and the Liberalistic gun right views are threatening the rights we have to arm ourselves as named in the constitution. The pressure of losing that Constitutional right is what is increasing the need to own a personal gun for protection before that right is "shot" to pieces. we all can understand why they would threaten to take away the right with the whole Gabrielle Giffords case, but nonetheless, the right is in the Constitution which i believe as a strict constructionist of the document that it should not be ammended to strip us of our rightful protection. aka i blame Obama.

THanks for the compliment :) But if you can't tell, My answer is most supported by facts and the majority. twerp or not, My voice is being heard and supported. more than you can say im sure. Plus Ofcourse Obama is against the second Amendment. He endorsed Illinois handgun Ban and opposed a bill okaying the use of guns in a home robbery. He limits the amount of guns sold bans semi automatics and says its okay to sue gun manufacterers. Plus he supports local cities to create their individual gun laws which is so against the Constitution and then turns around and says, quote " I have no intentions of taking away folks's guns". yeah.... hmmmmmmmm just a little twerp i am :)

You don't know the difference between "banning" and "control" of certain weapons. Local laws "trump" the Constitution. If you're municipality doesn't want you to have a gun, the Constitution doesn't apply. Obama has been very clear on that. Do you legally own a gun ?

The Constitution does not give you the right to own a gun, it seems you're quoating the last 14 words of the 2ND, read and understand the first 13 words.

I think the difference between you and i is our interpretation sir. I am a strict constructionist and it seems to me that you are more liberal in your views of the constitution.

Because CURRENTLY we can...give it awhile...we soon won't have this privelege.

It isn't a privelage, it's an individual right afforded to people that are legally qualified to own or posess a firearm.

Dur, that's my point. Not even those who qualify won't be able to.carry a fire arm. I wasn't saying in general, its gradually changing in time. Before you didn't have restrictions.

The lack of gun regulations honestly. I found out recently that my ex's girlfriend has bought a rifle. Now normally this wouldn't be a problem but my ex has been convicted twice for domestic violence and they live together. You would think those living with convicted felons would not be allowed to buy a gun.

Also, I thought Obama was trying to "abolish the right to bear arms" or at least that's what so many conservatives have told me, so why would he be to blame for the rise of gun sales? Fact of the matter is, whenever anything happens from someone spilling their milk to the economy, it always gets blamed on the president. You seriously could not pay me enough to have that job.

I don't blame Obama, I don't think its doomsday, what I really think it is people are taking a serious look at the amount of liberty and freedom we have really lost, Republicans and Democrats are to blame.

Laughter is the best medicine. That is the only medical contribution from this administration so far.

The Bush Administration put that program into affect, holder had nothing to do with it, had he know what the circumstances would be, he'd probably moved to shut the program down.

Holder has been in charge for well over 3 years. He is either hiding information or he has no idea what is going on. Either is just as damning. The evidence seems to be pointing to the first.

What is the issue with that?

The republicans over reacting. As always.. Always near doomsday, always dramatic always critical.. get the guns, going to be a revolution on and on and on.. The almighty powerful Obama did it all. Come on people. You just need an excuse and are using him because your bored OR you just like drama your all rednecks.

My grandparent's generation was all about preparing for the worst while hoping for the best. While some people were terrified of various doomsday scenarios such as nuclear war, or invasion, most people just believed in being prepared.

They were stingy with material, making sure nothing was wasted.
They stockpiled food in jars and root cellars for when times were tough.
They hid wealth at home, not trusting all to banks.
They had weapons for home-defense.

Not everyone did these things, of course, but it was pretty common. Their generation had seen at least one World War, huge food and material shortages, riots, mass unemployment, bank and stock market collapse, et cetera. They didn't call each other paranoid, because they'd lived through things worse than many alive now could imagine.

People who do this stuff now call themselves preppers, which is significant in that it distinguishes them from the majority of people who make no adequate measures to feed or protect themselves or their families in case of emergency.

Some people prep for some seriously crazy beliefs (IMHO), but does that make a difference? I would rather have neighbours who have prepared for all the wrong reasons, than ones who nothing for all the right reasons.

The truth is: They were just scared. They scared themselves then they scared their weak minded neighbors then on and on and on. Face it.....the futures always uncertain and the end is always near.
