Greens Want Lead Out Of Ammo?

~ The Rebel ~ 2012/06/12 13:48:20

Environmentalists have taken to Federal court to demand that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency overstep its authority and regulate lead ammunition.

The Trumpeter Swan Society, the Center for Biological Diversity and five other groups seek judicial review of the EPA’s denial of their petition in which the agency stated that regulating ammunition is beyond it authority.

The environmental groups want the EPA to go after lead ammunition under the Toxic Substance Control Act.

it would be funny if it were possible.

Remember the Left claiming that JF Kennedy and LB Johnson had gotten us into an "unjust war"? And that RM Nixon was keeping us in an "unjust war and illegal"?

When North Vietnam invaded South Vietnam the Left pushed the Democrat Congress to ignore terms of the peace treaty and NOT supply weapons and ammunition, not troope, to help the SV defend themselves because it was "unjust"?

With reagan in office it was "unjust and illegal" to help rebels defend against Marxist in Nicaragua and Honduras.

It was "unjust and illegal" for GW Bush, with dominate Congressional approval, to lead us into war in Afganistan and Iraq.

In all these cases it was argued that Government, our Federal Government, had over stepped its athourity.

It's "illegal" for States to regulate imigration, because they would be "over stepping their athourity". Trying to regulate something "outside their athourity" has been part of the argument for the DOJ to bring lawsuits against several States.

So now we have Leftist trying to get a court order to force a Department of the Federal Government to regulate something it Recognizes is outside it's legal perview?

It just another attempt at gun control.

    Interesting slant on things

    AMERICA'S HUNTERS --- Pretty

    Amazing!

The world's largest army... America's hunters!

I had never thought about this...

    A blogger

added up the deer license sales

in just a handful of states and

    arrived at a striking conclusion:

    There were over 600,000 hunters

this season in the state of Wisconsin.

Allow me to restate that number:

    Over the last several months,

Wisconsin's hunters became the eighth largest army in the world.

More men under arms than in Iran.

    More than France andGermany combined.

These men deployed to the woods of a single American state, Wisconsin,

    to hunt with firearms, and

    no one was killed.

That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan's
    700,000 hunters,

all of whom have now returned home safely.

Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally establishes the fact that the hunters

of those four states alone would
comprise the largest army in the world.

And then add in the total number of hunters in the other 46 states.

    It's millions more.

    The point?

    The point?

    America will forever be safe

from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower.

Hunting... it's not just a way

    to fill the freezer.

It's a matter of National Security.

    *****************************...
    That's why all enemies,

    foreign and domestic,

    want to see us disarmed.

Food for thought, when next we
    consider gun control.

    Have A Great Day!
    -----------------------------...
Overall it's true, so if we
    disregard some assumptions

that hunters don't possess the same skills as soldiers, the question
    would still remain...

    what army of 2 million

    would want to face

    30, 40, 50 million armed citizens.

(IF YOU AGREE, AS I DO, PASS IT ON, I FEEL GOOD THAT I HAVE AN ARMY OF MILLIONS WHO WOULD PROTECT OUR LAND AND I SURE DON'T WANT THE GOVERNMENT TAKING POSSESSION OF OUR FIREARMS)
For the sake of our freedom,

don't ever allow gun control or

    confiscation of guns.

I have enough ammo that I probably would never need to buy any ever again. If they think I will toss out that large of an investment they have lost their minds.

They would have a difficult time demonstrating how and where lead ammunition creates a genuine health hazard. The only one I know of is the dirt periodically changed out from the backstops of indoor shooting ranges and then only while the dirt is being handled.

California prohibited the use of lead ammunition in the 15 counties considered condor territory in 2008, and Arizona wildlife officials offer hunters there free nontoxic copper bullets with hunting permits. Several other States have mandated nontoxic shotgun shot for upland game bird hunting and other partial bans on lead ammo.

But the groups want broader Federal regulation, saying the EPA for years has regulated lead as a toxic substance, so it is unclear why it refuses to do so for lead ammunition.
