GOP candidates distance themselves from Romney statements

(CNN) - Two Republican Senate candidates from blue states condemned Tuesday the newly revealed remarks by Mitt Romney who claimed that 47% of the country believes they are victims, dependent on the government for food, housing, and health care.
Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts and Linda McMahon of Connecticut, both in tight election battles that could determine which party controls the Senate, sought to distance themselves from Romney's controversial remarks brought to light in a secretly recorded video of a closed-door May fundraiser published Monday.

"That's not the way I view the world," Brown said in a statement released by his campaign. "As someone who grew up in tough circumstances, I know that being on public assistance is not a spot that anyone wants to be in. Too many people today who want to work are being forced into public assistance for lack of jobs."
"I disagree with Governor Romney's insinuation that 47% of Americans believe they are victims who must depend on the government for their care," McMahon said in a statement posted on her website. "I know that the vast majority of those who rely on government are not in that situation because they want to be. People today are struggling because the government has failed to keep America competitive, failed to support job creators, and failed to get our economy back on track."
McMahon, who is now wealthy, recounted how she and her husband Vince McMahon struggled financially when they were younger.
"I am sympathetic to the struggles millions of Americans are going through because I've been there," she said. "As a young couple Vince and I lost our home and our car. With two small children it was not an easy time for our family."
Personal note: Conservative commentators, Peggy Noonan, Michael Savage, George Will, Joe Scarborough, and others were very dismayed

Moderate, unprincipled RINO's are welcome to lose and or leave the GOP. We are looking for principled leadership, not weak willed men and women looking to "win elections" by following polls and not what they hold dear.
My point is WHO CARES if two RINO's distance themselves from Romney? We couldn't begin to care less about them. I look to the day when someone like John Thune is considered a leader in the party- not Gingrich or some other life long Beltway insider.
I never mentioned any radio people, I stated that the 2 people mentioned in your article are RINO's. Period.
Laura Ingraham and Michael Savage are RINOS? Who are you kidding?
>>>>>> You never mentioned WHO you were talking about, you just threw out a red herring of "conservative talk show hosts". To which I WILL STILL REPLY that I was responding to your OP about 2 named, specific people distancing themselves from Romney. But to address your inane post, neither one are RINO's. Ingraham is not prominent enough to matter and Dr. Savage is a Libertarian/Independent. <<<<<<<
I mentioned all these people because their opinion are importany in the conservative community. Now if you're not a fan of theirs it doesn'y invalidate their opinions.
>>>>> You know NOTHING of who is prominent, or importanty, within the movement to restore Liberty to all citizens. Neither of the 2 you mentioned are influential enough to be concerned with. Dr. Savage is immensely principled, but no establishment type of Republican will ever acknowledge him. He is much closer to the Libertarian movement. His influence will be more for the future.<<<<<<
As far as invalidating opinions, there is no such thing. That's why they are opinions. Many adults will change...

If you are going to debate a principled Conservative out here you need to be better prepared. We are policy geeks and know what we are talking about. And if you could stick to one subject at a time, that'd be greeeaaat.
